I think what August meant is that, when people usually group old-school Japanese science fiction together for discussion, "Godzilla/Toho" comes first, followed by "Daiei/Gamera" and then "everything else".

It's an A-picture in the sense that obviously a lot more time and money was spent on it than your average Gamera film. Of course ,they had no idea what they were doing with the money, but nevertheless it is a more polished nonsensical film.

Well, this (wonderful) set (from the good folks at Shout!) has ruled my life for the last few days. Just finished Zigra. I am Gamera-ed and MST3Ked out for now!

So far, I have seen regular sets go for $29.99, the Tom Servo Figurine Set was on sale for $39.99, and they have offered special single-disc promos too, including the Serials disc.

Do you know if the Gamera set has gone on sale yet? It would be very cool if it pops up before the sale is done!

Never knew there was a Gorgo episode of MST3K, very neat.

EDIT: Gamera box went on sale on the 5th. :( Too late...
