Finally got around to picking these up:

I'm not even a HUGE fan of either film... I like both well enough (part 3 especially).... I actually find Halloween 3 to be one of the most underrated horror films out there. Not a perfect film, but a ridiculously original Lovecraftian, Quatermass-esque flick with tons of cool stuff in it. My collection just didn't seem... right without getting these. Especially since I already had both films on VHS and thought if I was ever gonna upgrade, now would be the time.
Halloween 3 actually makes a nice companion to Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy.
And now my two Halloween trilogies are complete. The first being the Carpenter trilogy (parts 1-3), and the Laurie Strode trilogy (1, 2, and H20). To me everything else in the original Halloween series is useless filler.
But SHOUT Factory's PACKED extras make up for any shortcomings or issues I have with either film.
These guys are seriously becoming one of my favorite DVD labels. When they say "Special Edition" they MEAN IT, DAMNIT. CAN'T WAIT for their They Live Blu! And I love their cool retro-style custom art on this stuff!
