There's no need. I have an official (UK Channel 4 broadcast) subtitled version of REVENGE on VHS, so I can make actual subs.

For those still having trouble with GHIDRAH...

[quote]Hi Jim,

I’ve found an answer to the reauthoring problem with GHIDRAH. Download the RESTREAM program.

http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downl ... m_246.html

The official website link doesn’t seem to work, but I found it on digital-digest. When you run the VOBEDIT program, [b]do not check the box for “split on new vob-idâ€

Perhaps that's why my Ghidrah DVD was streched on a 4:3 TV and it had artifacting.

Well looks like I have so work to do tonight.

On second thought, maybe I should lay off the dubtitles. That Aaron guy is one tough dude!

Updated 09/05/05:
- New for "Godzilla: Final Wars" (thanks once again to David), as well as REAL subtitles for Sony's R1 releases of "Godzilla vs. Megaguirus", "GMK" and "Godzilla: Tokyo SOS" to replace those horrid "dubtitles" (well, I suppose in the case of SOS, pretty much just to rid myself of "MechaG") :P

Haven't tested it out yet but going to right now.

One more thing James in step 8 of your DVD-R back up guide everything is grayed out in my copy of DVD Shrink :-\

Would that make a diffrence?

EDIT:

I can confirm that the stuff works for Ghidrah HOWEVER I'm having difficult burning it with Nero, it gets to a certain point then it says illegal disc. :?

So far I've wasted three blank DVDs perhaps someone else could have better luck than me. I'm going to try a diffrent burning software.

EDIT:
I think I know what the problem is. In step 8 those to check boxes are greyed out with Ghidrah so I have no idea how to back it up maybe you need the Final Box version of Ghidrah. James have you made a successful DVD-R back up of Ghidrah yet?

Also here is the error I get when trying to burn with Nero

Some help needed...

But before i come to my problem i must say "Thanx to James and everybody else who made these subs possible and available! Really, thank you guys!!".

If i only could get this to work....now the problem:

I've problems with authoring my DVD (my first try: toho's GMK-3disc set).
After selecting the audio and video streams and adding the subs and clicking author DVD i get the following error message:

-----------------------------
DVDAuthorGUI 1.005 - 8/18/2005
Send problems with DVDAuthorGUI to liquid_217@hotmail.com
***please wait while the titles are multiplexed.
*multiplexing title: 1.....
INFO: [???] mplex version 2.0.0 (2.2.3 $Date: 2004/01/13 20:45:26 $)
**ERROR: [???] Unable to open file C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\S÷ren\Desktop\demuxed\[1]_VTS_01_1.m2v for reading.

Process aborted due to above error
There was an unknown error. Please review the log for more information.
-----------------------------

Apparently there is some problem with the demuxed VTS file.

Here's what i did before getting to DVDauthoring. Basically i followed james' excellent guide step by step. DVDshrink3.2 made some problems (after hitting 100% encoding it said "reallocation error". So i used the shrink2.3 version which i normally used and it worked. So i put GMK without subs and only jap.5.1 audio in a folder).
VOBedit showed 5 VTS files instead of just one like in james guide, but after selecting the first and starting demuxing it ran through all five VTS files.
Now i used DVDauthor, followed the guide and encountered above problem....

What am i doing wrong???

Any help is much appreciated!
