Any News on Godzilla DVD Rereleases?

Rumor has it one of these is G'85. And wasn't there a rumor a long time ago about SF talking to Toho about this one?



I guess we'll know tomorrow.

Considering the massive amount of sci-fi and horror films from the 80s with huge cult fanbases, I really doubt its G'85 but here's to hoping

Has anyone heard any news about a Destroy All Monsters re release? My copy was swiped by an ex and the price of one on Ebay is ridiculous.

I have a question about G 1985 (and no its not about potential release, i know the curent status .However I do have three versions of G 1985 that were released on VHS in the United States -
New World, Anchor Bay, & Star Maker. I also have a cough"copy"cough of the UK PAL VHS release of Return of Godzilla from 1998 by Carlton Home Entertainment.

Now all that being said, according to Wikipedia (I do consider the source is not always 100% accurate) the VHS "rights" to Godzilla 1985 currently reside with a company referred to as Lakeshore Entertainment

I'm just curious to know how (if at all) Lakeshore fits into the equation, especially if the rights have reverted fully back to Toho for all versions of the film. Also I'm curious as to when the last time Godzilla 1985 was aired in the United States. I'm guessing it was one of the Monsters HD broadcats, but sadly I never had the channel so I couldn't see it, an I'm not having any luck finding any broadcast dates.

Lakeshore which I believe was a subsidiary of Anchor Bay and now Starz wanted to release G85 on DVD back in the early 2000s but Toho said their was licensing issues with it.

Pretty much every Godzilla film has now had a DVD/BD release except Godzilla '85 and King Kong vs. Godzilla. These are the two movies that I keep waiting for to get an official DVD/BD release. With what you're saying about Godzilla '85, that seems to be the one that is closer to having a possible release, but what's the deal with KKvsG? Don't tell me. Issues with Universal??
