It's possible that GODZILLA '84 has a little more on screen text than BIOLLANTE's Japanese version, and that I'm just getting the two confused, but I kind of doubt it. In any case, the JP versions of both have the most on-screen text out of any films in the series. Even if it makes them "unique", it's distracting, and pointless to English readers/speakers.

I actually wasn't counting the "G-Alerts", and should have been more specific, so that's my bad. Speaking of those, there are English variants from the international version, and it's a shame they couldn't have been included via seamless branching, but I know only like, 3 other people even given a sh*t if they had.

ok. fair enough...i don't find it distracting though.

not any more or less distracting than the little stuff that scrolls across the bottom of the screen in GINO, for example...

The first few minutes of BIOLLANTE have a lot of onscreen text (Japanese subtitles for all the Engrish), but there's not as much of it once the story goes back to Japan. There are still the subtitled scenes whenever a foreigner speaks and occasional location titles.

I've always thought that the Heisei film with the most Japanese text was MECHAGODZILLA. Of course, there's a lot of Engrish in that one too, and I think most of it is subtitled.

Am I the only person that doesn't care about the giant Japanese subtitles or if they are present/removable or not?

I've been enjoying this movie with those big ass subtitles since I was 8 years old.

No, I don't care either. It's Godzilla vs. Biollante on Blu-ray. There's really no reason to complain unless the disc doesn't play.

I'm late to dinner on this conversation, and not really feeling like scrolling back several pages to see what's up, but I did get a notice in email for some new pre-orders at Amazon for this on DVD for 6.99 http://www.amazon.com/Godzilla-Vs-Bioll ... +biollante

and blu-ray for 7.99 http://www.amazon.com/Godzilla-Biollant ... +biollante

I'd gladly buy this blu-ray even if it was $20 or so. Even $25. For everything we're getting compared to, say, what the Japanese blu-ray costs, even a price like that is a steal.

Any price below $15 is incredible. It's kinda weird to see people get so anal about what amounts to pocket change. My question to everyone else is: what would be your cut-off price for this release? Would anyone honestly back out completely if they discovered this was going to be priced over $15?
