Skimmed the discs today. This nitpicker would say they are merely 'satisfactory'. SAN DAIKAIJU: CHIKYU SAIDAI NO KESSEN looks exactly like the R2 disc with poor black levels and muted colors. The "U.S. version" looks like someone smeared vaseline on the original camera lens. The only positive thing to say is that it represents the original U.S. version better than the version on the CBC channel (Godzilla gets shot in the nether regions before Malness dies this time.)
R2 on top, R1 (Japanese version), R1 (dubbed version)
As for MONSTER ZERO, the squeezed credits on aren't the only thing wacky about this version. The film's original location title cards are gone and replaced with computer generated ones, etc, etc.

I would have gone through more special features, but the exhaustive image gallery of 10 photos on the GHIDORAH THE THREE HEADED MONSTER disc wore me out.
