That sounds like a neat project to do! Its pretty easy since I have the Classic Media dvd of Mothra vs Godzilla along with a dvd ripper and movie maker on my PC.

Its pretty easy for me to do a reproduction on my PC since I went to film camp for about 3 years. Just extact the audio from the original US cut video source then get the Japanese print of film and match the audio up. For fades and such, I don't think it doesn't need to be used. For example, the shot of the heilcoper in the Japanese cut, it goes to the Japanese text of the news. If you get the exact same shot of American version, it goes to the English text. Also the US cut of Mothra vs Godzilla had minor cuts besides the Missle scene. Just typing about it makes me want to do my own project.

Its pretty easy to a reconstruct it now or days. Use the titles for AIP version from the widescreen footage and then use footage from the now recent released Godzilla dvd's and cut it up like the original AIP version and extact the audio from the original fullscreen footage.
