I am really happy to hear about GvsMegalon being released. Other than GvsBiollante, this one has been long overdue.

As far as DAM...if it's the AIP version (which I doubt), then I will be extremely excited. However, if it's just the awful international dub, then it seems rather pointless and I will be skipping it, as I already have the Japanese R2 DVD...

Agreed. I definitely will NOT get DAM dvd or BD if the AIP dub is not included.

You guys are insane.

Skipping a DVD or blu-ray that's going to feature the Japanese version (at the very least) that's presented with video quality far, far, far above the crap we've had to deal with on R1 for over a decade, extra features, probably a subtitled commentary and whatever else MB might decide to include if they don't use the AIP dub is incredibly strange.

I love that old dub too, but nothing is going to stop me from picking up a reference quality high definition version of Destroy all Monsters, no matter what dub it ends up coming with.

Ebirahsmeg, you may have the R2, but do you have a legit subtitled version of it, in high def? I have the R2 as well and I'll gladly buy the MB version to upgrade to better visuals and subtitles. To me, anything else we get with this release is just gravy.

IMHO, skipping this release in anger if it doesn't include a dub that Toho may not even agree to or that might not be usable is asinine.

Wow, there are still people who will refuse to buy this disc if it doesn't have the AIP dub? That, good people, is positively absurd. Yes, Titra's dub is immeasurably superior to Frontier's, but there is absolutely no sense in passing up a high-quality (Blu-ray!) release of the original version of one of the most beloved films in the genre, complete with subtitles and possibly even some cool extras. Heck, I don't even have a Blu-ray player yet, and I'll be getting these. Got to make the upgrade sometime.

The arguments I've heard in favor of skipping this release make absolutely no sense to me. You can do what you want, but that won't stop me from finding the idea ludicrous in every way.

It would be so funny if, in an alternate universe, the Titra dub was never commissioned and AIP just released the international version with some cuts and a different title card. Everyone would be begging for MB to preserve the previously unavailable, highly sought after and bootlegged Frontier dub that they heard back in the day!

I'm not going to buy DAM unless Media Blasters puts forth the money to reanimate Honda for an audio commentary.

I won't buy it unless it comes with repros of the movie poster and the Marusan toys that were available during that time. Anything else is INEXCUSABLE!!!
