By any objective standard, that clip Goji 84 just showed us is GARBAGE. Yet I enjoyed it the way a normal person enjoys watching the Super Bowl or pornography. I don't need to watch an official Godzilla Toho â„¢ movie to be entertained. It' s like those morons that will say a PS3 or Wii game sucks because "their" system is X Box 360. Fun is Fun.

And like I said in the toy thread...I kind of get this statement. It's really hard for me to get into Ultraseven in particular.
That being said, their are Ultra series that I enjoy...namely Return of Ultraman, Nexus and Max. I really don't think the first Ultraman is all that great to be honest, even though it introduces a lot of iconic kaiju and concepts.

I'm not saying that Ultraman's mythology is bad, just that it isn't all that interesting to me. I can handle stuff with a happy medium of building the mythos and "monster of the week" (like say, Ultraman Ace or something), but I felt like the post-Mebius stuff got a little too far up its own ass with the mythology at times.
I'm sure that's an unpopular opinion... again, I don't think its BAD, I just find it a little too bland for all the attention its been getting lately... for me, that is. I think part of it is that I just find the Ultras themselves to be rather boring characters. I find the Ultra-monsters to be way cooler, more creative, and more interesting.
