Finally got my copy! :D Have only skimped through the four. "Son of Kong" and "Mighty Joe Young" look especially sharp. RIP William Schallert who happened to be in two of these four films.

While both "Siegfried" and "Kriemhild's Revenge" are quite long, they are still intriguing. Some have stated that Siegfried's battle with the dragon looks very antiquated. If anything, because the creature is not CGI rendered, I find it to be a breath of fresh air!

What's that four pack run for on Amazon? I'd look myself but I'm traveling for business right now.

Half Price Books is running on of their 20% off sales for Memorial Day weekend, that's where I found the NEW copies of the Showa Gamera movies, so $8 a piece for those.

Vintage Stock is having a "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" sale on all USED movies, music, and video games. That's where I found the three Doctor Who releases (Planet of the Spiders, Colony in Space, and Earthshock) and picked up all 3 for just over $30 after tax. Huge savings on the three as they are all currently OOP in North America -- PotS is $120 mininum for a used copy on Amazon, CiS is $89 minimum, and Earthshock is $44 minimum ($253 through Amazon, so $223 in savings.)

EDIT: Oh, that gray patch in the bottom left corner is my cat, Meriadoc, she insisted on helping with the picture. No, you're not seeing things, Meriadoc does not have a tail. Why? She's part Manx, a breed with commonly lacks a tail.

Well it appears one good thing about a new TMNT is that more of the animated series volumes are getting dirt cheap. Although I enjoy most 80's animated series, TMNT was always a bit odd. I did not like it at first, mostly because it came after (or concurrently with) the passing of most of the 80's shows I really enjoyed. Secondly, I never had the toys as I was in my teens and foolishly had to "hide" my love of toys until I graduated High school and discovered I dont care what anybody thinks... I'm gonna enjoy my toys. 8)

So with that said I picked up recently form the original series:

Season 1 $2.50 - Target
Season 2 $3.00 - Walmart
Season 3 $5.00 - Walmart (for 47 episodes this by far was a steal!)
Season 7 $7.50 - Walmart

--Going to local stores later to see if I can get other season sets. The complete collection is $85 (Turtle Van), on Amazon but I've never been big on Novelty sets. I did make exceptions for Transformers (Matrix set) and GI Joe (Footlocker set), but the Turtle Van I just cant see making work, plus if prices continue this cheap, I'll get them all for way under $85.

Additionally I see Sony is releasing some individual DVDs of The Real Ghostbusters to capitalize on that other film coming out. But they are hardly complete sets. I just wish time/life would have offered their complete set in something less conspicious than the firehouse box set. The set had some amazing extras, I just have no space for such a big boxy thing.

*edit* update- Found Season 10 at a different Walmart for $5.00
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

If you like Neil Blomkamp, all his films can be bought on Amazon for like $17.

Twilight Time is having a sale. I was originally just gonna get Baskervilles, The Big Heat, and Zulu - but then I remembered how much I love Spencer Tracy and Burt Lancaster and here we are.

Finally finished off my 80's TMNT collection thanks to Wal-Mart. I'm a little irked I had to double-dip on two seasons, but that's OK, I can trade them into a used media store and get a little credit back. If you are like me and never bothered to get TMNT just because the releases seemed to be too many, too random, and expensive, here's the best most economical way to get them:

Most Targets & Wal-Marts will have the FHE releases of season 1 ($2.50) and season 2 ($3.50)

Then Walmart has Lionsgate releases for:

Season 3 $7.50
Season 4 $14.99
Seasons 5/6 $9.96
Seasons 7/8 $9.96
Seassons 9/10 $7.50

So...for under $60 I was able to get the entire 10 season run. While some of the Lionsgate releases did skip some episodes form individual seasons, they are made up for in other seasons later, so not 100% in chronological order, but they are all there.

a word of caution...some wal-marts have individual seasons such as 7 & 10 at seemingly reasonable prices, however you should not get these, instead search around for the dual-season sets, it will definitely be worth it.

Agreed. Media releases of the 2003 series are a real mess, and Nick isn't making things any better (more random single disc DVD's). I never really watched this series, but if it were all available in one neat package (or season sets) I would give it a chance. I would hate to have to wait a couple more years for another Turtles theatrical movie in order for the opportunity to present itself, but I guess only time will tell.

I recently ordered the blu-rays for Godzilla vs Megalon and Destroy All Monsters. It appears that Media Blasters is letting these go out of print already and they've not even been out two years (Amazon records the current release of DAM and Megalon were releases on Sept. 2, 2014).

I ordered my copies from an Ebay seller who offered a combo of both movies at around $35 + shipping, DAM alone is selling for a minimum of around $30 through the independent sellers on Amazon. If anyone needs the movies you're best bet may also be via Ebay too.

DAM came out in like 2011. MB has the license for like 6 years now, so it would make sense if their licenses have expired.

Remember that Media Blasters screwed up their original release of DAM by including some unapproved extras requiring MB to pull the release (and ultimately delaying the release of Megalon). DAM was eventually re-released in 2014 along with the blu-ray of Megalon, both without any extras (and DAM now missing the AIP dub).
