I saw a bunch of those covers when I was in Best Buy the other day. Sucks that they appear to just be cards slipped into the front of the slipcase and not actual new covers.

I didn't purchase it but my parents got me The Wolf Man on BD. Wish I hadn't watched the DVD version yet :(.

Havent really been expanding my Bluray library lately, especially with Ultra HD Bluray so near. But I have been expanding my Laserdisc collection. Got a really good deal on this disc, and it's in flawless condition. Really happy right now.

I picked up Creature From the Black Lagoon at Wal-Mart a couple weeks ago, also ordered Jurassic World 3D about the same time.

^awesome movie that's both a loving homage to slashers and a parody. Lots of fun.

It FINALLY arrived!!!

I watched the first 10 episodes today and it was so awesome and weird watching an officially licensed DVD subtitled. For the most part, Shout's subs are great, but my personal preference for spelling Kirin is just like I did it while Shout spelled it as Qilin.

So they put actual subtitles on Mononoke and Castle in the Sky, but they got rid of the individual movie's bonus features.

^Yeah, well, by 'got rid of' I suppose they just didn't negotiate or whatever for the old bonus content. There is original bonus content for the set, though.

Just received the Blufans Steelbook of Godzilla 2014, number 559/1000. My first Blufans release and it really lives up to the hype and I can see why collectors love them so much. Very high quality, and beautiful design.

First I'd ever heard of it and you got me thinking about maybe getting it too... until I saw that awesome cover was a slipcover and the steelbook itself is the typical G'14 cover/poster art. What a shame!

The top slipcover image is the Imax poster design. I'd LOVE to have it in 27x40 size, but so far can only find it in 13x9.

Re: New DVD/Blu-ray Purchases

I saw some posts over at Blu-Ray.com where some of the 3D blu-rays were scaning/ringing up at reduced prices at Wal-Mart. I picked up a copy of Godzilla 3D (2014) for $6.96 for a stocking stuffer -- off the top of my head Man of Steel 3D is also $6.96 and Despicable Me 2 3D was $9.96. There were some others but I don't recall them all at the moment; I believe Mad Max: Fury Road 3D and San Andreas 3D were in the mix too.

So if you're interested in some 3D titles hit up your local Wal-Mart to see if they have anything you want; note that not all the 3D titles rang up at reduced prices just some of them.

EDIT: Looking through Blu-Ray.com's Wal-Mart BF thread it looks like the 3D releases of Jupiter Ascending, Edge of Tomorrow, and I believe the Extended Editions of Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug and Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies; not sure if they scan at $6.96 or $9.96.

There are some 3D blus mixed in with the Black Friday movie assortment too; I recall TF: Age of Extinction 3D and maybe Jurassic Park 3D. I know that I, Frankenstein 3D made a return appearance this year.

Cowboy Bebop I got with store credit when I traded in a bunch of DVDs I'd long-since upgraded at Moviestop. Sullivan's Travels is likely (unless I decided to splurge tomorrow) my only purchase from the annual Criterion sale.
