The movie is pretty straight forward. But, then again, if people are watching at home, they can be easily distracted. When I was a kid, you saw these in theaters (or Drive-Ins) or on commercial televisions, but with no Tivo or other home video equipment -- you either watched the film, or you didn't, because you couldn't rewind, pause or anything else.

Originally, the characters in WOTG and FCTW were supposed to be the same, but because of the unavailability of Nick Adams, they changed the characters and moved the location. Read more here:

It almost seems like (in the Japanese version) that the script originaly wanted Nick Adams' character back for continuity, then that was changed and everything got a bit muddled and we end up with a bit of an Evil Dead 2 situation where we have a sequel with different coninuity.

Or maybe it's the subtitles.
