On the topic of "Digital Copy", whether on BD or DVD, I think it's an interesting idea, but for the most part a waste of a disc. I think it's the companies' attempt to curb customers' interests in figuring out how rip their DVDs and convert them to other formats. Not to mention, the Digital Copies I've seen have a limited time that they can be activated before the disc is no good, which is also a waste.

As someone with a Blu-ray player and a love of extensive extras, I don't complain about that. I really disliked what they did with the Jackson's King Kong BD, they should have included a bonus disc with all the extras from the previous releases, the production diaries, or whatever they could use.

Also I'm on the fence about including the DVD version with the BD. I understand Blu-ray is still not common enough someone may not have more than one player in their house. But some people may not want the DVD, and it's often a waste of space. On an interesting side note, I recently got the Spaceballs BD; It includes the DVD as well, I believe this is the much earlier one and not the more recent special edition. I figure this was just an attempt by the company to get rid of a ton of unsold discs; They even have the fullscreen version on the flip-side. Anyone who owns a Blu-ray player probably has enough interest in quality film to not give a crap about having the fullscreen version of a widescreen movie. (I'm eager to see if GINO will include the DVD.)

Another thing as far as the difference between DVD and BD goes: Some people like to "upgrade" from the last to most recent format, such as VHS to DVD, and then get rid of the previous one. I'm a hardcore collector and am not like this, when it comes to kaiju I keep and collect all VHS, DVD, etc. regardless of if the format is obsolete. I bring this up because Classic Media is apparently not including Godzilla, King of the Monsters on their BD in any form. I think they should at least include that version in standard definition (along with commentary), because there may be some people wanting to replace their 2006-release Gojira with the BD. But that's just my take.

Blu-ray is an awesome format, I'm eagerly awaiting all kaiju releases (and the Japanese ones if my finances eventually allow).

I agree, Digital Copies of movies are a waste. I think Bluray is also very awesome, I have one player with 2 Bluray films, Jumper and The Kingdom. Excellent picture and sound on a HDTV.
