Anyone else living in Japan affected by this? This has been a horrible situation...my power just came on 1 hour ago...and I am one of the lucky ones as millions still don't have power. I live between Tokyo and Miyagi (Tochigi prefecture) and it was ...I was working in my office and it turned everything over very violently and broke several windows...it was surreal. I've felt earthquakes many times in Japan, but never anything close to this...it felt like Godzilla himself was approaching or Baragon was burrowing close by.
Anyways, hope any other posters on here who are living in Japan are safe and ok.

Haven't been affected here too badly (North-East Tokyo), but the quake was really intense. Couldn't stand up anymore when it peaked. Apartment was making so much noise I thought it was going to crumble. Can't believe we're still getting aftershocks even now.
Crappy experience I hope we don't have to go through again any time soon.
Hope all your friends and family are okay.

Its been OK here in Nagoya. The first quake was pretty scary wasn't it. It wasn't so strong here, but the strongest I've ever felt. The freaky thing was how long it was. It felt like it slowly got stronger then very slowly tailed off.
How are you with all the nuclear uncertainty? I live here which is probably twice as far away as Tokyo and nobody feels very safe about it. I've heard and read that people have decided to get away from the Tokyo area altogether.

I heard that for those living in Tokyo and surrounding areas like Shizuoka, that aftershocks are still going on. A 6.4 aftershock occured a few days ago in Shizuoka that caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damages?
ALso for those of you guys living in Tokyo, what's your own opinion on the likelihood of Mt. Fuji erupting? Apparently the last time we had a large 8.4 earthquake and large 15 m tall Tsunami in Japan, it was followed by Mt. Fuji erupting 45 days later. The 1707 great earthquake....*shudders*

Mt. Fuji erupting? Anything's possible. It is not dead, just dormant.
