Godzilla vs The Martian Tripods (WotW)

Okay, at first glance you'd think that Godzilla could simply wade through the tripods like they were cardboard. But remember the War of the Worlds tripods (Spielberg's Version) had ray weapons that could incinerate flesh instantaneously. Would that weapon still work the same on Godzilla or would his Organizer/Regenerater G-1 counteract its effects? Also, could the tripods shields hold against Godzilla's atomic beam?

The key, in my opinion is Godzilla's regenerative properties (G-1). If Godzy doesn't get incinerated after being blasted then those Martian war machines are toast.

NOTE: For the sake of argument, let's stick to the Martian tri-pods from the Stephen Spielberg movie version. Any version of Godzilla (past or present) is acceptable.

Everything depends on a) how many tripods and b) are their shields able to deflect Godzilla's ray.

It's very hard to say. I think Godzilla can take quite a bit of weapons fire from them, though.

I expect so, as he can take his own beam, which does even nastier things to humans in Godzilla 1985.

Or so you think.

Here's the thing about War of the Worlds. You can not get technical with that movie. "The martians were buried here for a million years." So why didn't they invade when man kind didn't have weapons to fight back with? I know that idea came from Speilberg while he was busting a nut over Tom Cruise, but seriously, they're telling me that martians are going to use technology that is out dated by 1 million years. Hell earth technology from 5 years ago is obsolete.

Back to the heat ray debate. The rays could turn an entire human body into ash in the blink of an eye, a single blast destroyed an entire bridge and slice through cars, but for the life of the thing can't do any damage what so ever to clothing. Godzilla just needs to bundle up.
