A lot of it depends on what Superman we're talking about. Pre-Crisis Golden age Superman could knock planets out of orbit with his punch. It would not be much of a feat for that version to simply punch Godzilla right into the sun. More recent versions aren't as powerful, but they still have a lot on Godzilla.

Ah, man. That Superman's toast. "More powerful than a locomotive...OUCH! You shot me! With a laser! That hurt like $%^& man! I mean, if you'd shot me with a bullet I would have been fine, but a laser? Damn, man! I'm gonna go get Green Lantern to help me, you'll be sorry then!"

Superman would win - and there is continuity to suggest this. Marvel Comics Godzilla proved equal in power to Thor, the God of Thunder. Yet Superman, in last year's inter company crossover - Avengers/JLA, showed that his strength was greater than the power of Thor's hammer by stopping it easily with one hand, and then knocked Thor out with a single punch. The only thing that Thor didn't do was cry like a little girl.

So Superman > Thor = Godzilla.
