Since Mothra is a basic factor in the fight, and Irys is a bad critter, Mothra would use her telepathy to screw with Irys' connection to whoever was silly enough to link with it.
Gyaos' sonic knives would not be sufficient to kill Fire Radon unless they sliced up critical bits. Meanwhile, Fire Radon's heat beam would splash Gyaos guts all over the wallpaper.
But wait, Irys has all those neat - nothing. With Mothra going psycholistic on Irys, Cut-up Radon would splatter it as well.
Whether or not Radon later mistakes Mothra for a midnight meganeuron snack is up to personal interpretation.

True, the fireballs have a nice splash, but they're splashing flame. Flame looks pretty, but it often doesn't bother giant monsters. There is some concussive effect, true, but I've yet to see the turtle spit a fireball through an entire skyscraper and knock a heavily-armored mecha on its shiny butt.
As for effective radius, that one has to be filed under "insufficient data." There is, to my knowledge, no authentic listing of monsters' beam weapon ranges or on-target yields, which is why we have to interpret the on-screen action. I will point out that Godzilla seemed to fire a pretty distant blast at Hedorah, during that long panning shot. He also gave the SY-3 a good long blast, including when it went into emergency climb. Then there's Godzilla's blasting the mini-black hole while it was rather high in the air. That compares favorably with the Showa Gyaos sniping at jets which were still not so high that ground details were invisible.
Those are just off the top of my head, but even so there's really no saying that Godzilla doesn't have a good range with his breath.
(It's true that the original contention was between Fire Radon's beam vs. Gyaos' sonic knives, but in interests of keeping the thread topical I wanted to head off a potential trip down Gamera rulz lane.)
The large Gyaos in Gamera 3 looked like utter crap after two fireballs. Gyaos are not and never have been portrayed as heatproof. Please refresh my memory about Gyaos making it into actual space,as I do not have Gamera 3 on tape. ('Sadly enough, since that's the only one of the modern trilogy I really liked.)
Yeah, I know Mothra wasn't one of the combatants, but she is in the bar - and if we're going to have such a goofy scenario then Mothra can help out Radon.
