Being a HUGE Superman fan I'm surprised I didn't notice this thread until now. I remember as a kid speculating the outcome of a Godzilla/Superman confrontation but I could never think of a clear victor in my head. The previous points you all made are all valid.
We've established the following:
Pre-Crisis Superman would beat Godzilla
Godzilla would defeat Animated Justice League Superman
Marvel Godzilla would defeat all.
What about the Christopher Reeve Superman against Godzilla? My money is on Reeve's Superman. He had too much heart to ever give up and he was powerful enough to push the moon out of its orbit--ridiculous but it happened. Also, he was capable of turning back time by altering the Earth's rotation.
