The freakiest thing I found . . .
Posted: Thu Aug 21, 2008 4:46 amOn Tuesday night, while walking all the way to the mailbox at the end of the sidewalk to check my mail, I came across one of the freakiest things I ever found, and I'm not sure what it is:
It's a small, living creature, about an inch and a half long. Probably an insect, like a worm or something. It wears a spiky shell of dirt and grass on it like a snail or a hermit crab! It crept very slowly along the sidewalk by the grass. And this is certainly not a snail or a hermit crab! It was a hulking thimble of dirt and grass, with a worm-like head sticking out, and it crawls ON this worm-like head! I kinda tapped it, or gently tried to take it off the ground to see what it is on the underbelly, but it clung to the ground, until it popped back into its shell! Of course, I replaced it on the ground before heading back home. This was a very rare creature I hadn't seen before, at least I don't remember seeing it.
Do you guys know what kind of animal this is?
