If he does stay retired this time, it will be a sad day.
However Studio Ghibli will continue to make anime movies well into the future.
Since apparently his son Goro is getting much better, and even former animators turned famous directors like Amano want to do projects.
Hayao Miyazaki has a swan song in The Wind Rises.
