I'm now fully caught up with Funimation's streamings of the episodes. In my opinion the show had a very strong opening, then a bit less so for the rest of the first half (above average to be sure - but this is Eureka Seven we're talking about!), and has gotten excellent since the halfway point.

I've been watching this off on and on. I got to episode 12 and 13 last night.

Awesome stuff, I feel like I'm going to power through this show in the next few weeks or so. I mean, it was still decent before, but now it's awesome.

I watched 17 thru 20 last night. Now I'm trying desperately to rush through a re-watch of Eureka Seven. I told myself I'd do that before I started Ao, but I got impatient. I'm finishing up episode 10 right now. I think I like Ao more than the original Eureka Seven, but at the same time it's a lot more typical as far as mecha shows go. Well, in some aspects Eureka Seven had SOME similarities (Mysterious Girl/Mecha that isn't just a Mecha and probably more I can't recall), but the crew of the Gekko's interactions and missions made for some excellent character development. The whole surfing of trapar thing also made it fairly unique.
Anyhow, I'm super excited to finish my marathon of Eureka Seven and see the last 4 episodes of Ao. I've been enjoying that show immensely.

I finished the show, and...well..I thought I was going to like it more than Eureka Seven, but I wasn't quite as pleased with the ending as I was with Eureka Seven's.
