They are doing a month of movies, so that will delay some of the endings.

They already announced that Space Dandy show, and also Blue Exorcist is also joining the lineup.

Just in case the movies are these:

Trigun: Badlands Rumble (12/28)

lol DBZ? Might as well ask for it to snow in hell. Can they even do that, with the situation with DBZ Kai (which is the better edition anyway).

In my day we used to wait weeks, even months for a single thing to happen on DBZ!

Kids today, bah!

Toonami needs to air the new Sailor Moon series at the same time in airs in Japan.

Crazy show space Dandy on next week

For a first episode, it was decent. The dub was excellent and the show was hilarious, but I still have no idea what the show is about. I loved the ending though, but I'm not sure it is a show I'm going to be willing to stay up until 1am just to watch.

BTW, an interesting line up Toonami has. Three hours of new stuff and three hours of reruns. I guess it beats out them just repeating the same three hours twice. Of course, is anyone even up to watch these?

I saw it and was exactly what I was expecting. It hit all the right notes. I hope later episodes are as good or better. The best way I can describe it is an Adult Swim Sunday Night show animated by BONES rather than Williams Street or Titmouse.

I liked all the diversity of alien designs. I liked the ambivalent narrator. I liked about 1/2 of the meta humor. I'll be interested to see where it goes.

Finally caught Space Dandy (I couldn't figure out when it was on. Didn't realize Toonami was starting a half hour earlier).

The Shinchiro Watanabe fingerprints are all over it. There's a weird sort of logic to this show's tone: Cowboy Bebop has this completely wacky side that came out occasionally, Samurai Champloo has the wackiness come out a bit more often, then Watanabe does this drama (Kids on the Slope) which is naturalistic and reserved - and now he follows up with a show that's 100% wackiness.

This is also a show that wears its influences on its sleeve: pulp sci-fi and the silliest parts of anime and Tokusatsu sci-fi... actually, from what I've read American pulp sci-fi was a very popular import back in the day and did a whole lot to influences those other two things, so I suppose this is all rather fitting.

I saw a Space Sheriff Gavan soda can last episode. I was so pleased

Space Dandy...my personal thoughts are, I really like the character designs (especially his cat hybrid partner) and there were a few character quirks that I enjoyed. What left me flat was what felt like too much dialogue, crammed into too small a timespace. And I REALLY didn't care for the grade school profanities. The men's resort "Boobies" was all right, but the alien saying he was going to get out of Space Dandy's "poopy hair" honestly made me cringe. There's enough there, though, that I did like to keep me watching, for now.
