Posted: Sun Mar 26, 2017 2:42 pmAfter seeing John Wick Chapter 2 it made me think of the abortive attempt to make a Hollywood Cowboy Bebop film starring Keanu, and after the two John Wick films I think he'd be perfect... not as Spike, but as Vicious.

Still say if they don't get Keanu Reeves for Spike, it's a big mistake.

I'm cautiously hopeful about the live-action remake. My biggest worry, since this has been in development in some way or another for like 10 years, has been that the people making Cowboy Bebop in live-action wouldn't have the enormous budget necessary to create the enormous, sprawling, detailed, crowded world of the future that comprises the background of the series. These things often don't have a ton of bearing on the stories of particular episodes, which might be rather small scale, but the fact that there's all this stuff going on in the background, all this sprawl, is a huge part of the vibe of Cowboy Bebop. The world-building is like the unsung 6th main character in Cowboy Bebop. I know that Netflix has the deep pockets to pull something like that off.
