I finished Trigun, on a whim I watched the end credits for the last episode and it made it way better.
In the past (due to not seeing this part) I thought Vash just wandered off into the desert leaving the insurance girls behind.
In the scene he goes back to the small town where they were with Knives over his shoulder.
Kinda wonder how they react to the presence of Knives (especially Milly) since he was the big mastermind behind the killing of Wolfwood.

Also watched all of Slayers Next, it's mostly a comedy show, but gets serious near the end.

Just finished Mezzo DSA an action show that has ties to Mezzo Forte.
There are 2 versions of that OVA, one that's more action packed, and one that has that plus some adult stuff...
DSA does have a bit of nudity involved, and is pretty action packed.
Must say that Mikura is a hottie in her tight fitting orange spandex suit...
Fun characters, a fun dub (back in the ADV days), and of course cute girls.

Slowly consolidating my collection, so I bought Mushishi & Tenchi Muyo GXP (SAVE editions) at work for about $16 each.
Will sell off the singles at FYE (hopefully) and try to get something else to consolidate.

Well FYE was a bust, they only wanted maybe 7 of the DVDs I was trying to sell.
They offered $10 and the cheapest thing they had that I wanted was $30.
So I kept the singles of Gun X Sword for now.

I did sell off Tenchi GXP, Mushishi, and Welcome to the NHK singles to get $15 at HPB.

I had bought the SAVE of Welcome to the NHK at a different used store.

Not sure if I mentioned getting Ninja Scroll on Blu-Ray for about $10 at HPB.
I sold off the DVD with that other stuff.

I watched all of Slayers Try which is still pretty good.

Now I am watching the Blu-Ray of season 1 of Strike Witches.
Last time I watched it, I had a smaller TV so I couldn't see much detail.
Unless it's just the Blu-Ray that shows pretty much everything (especially the chest area) in detail...

I definitely sympathize with the desire to consolidate for space, but it can be expensive. I usually don't do it if I feel I am going to lose a lot of money. I was able to sell of the entirety of my Gatchaman DVD collection (9 DVD sets containing a total of 27 discs) for @90 dollars, which coincidentally was the same price for the Blu-Ray set with much fewer discs, and all the same extras. Theoretically I would love to consolidate all my individual Gundam DVD's from various releases to some of the "Legebds" releases, but those now are more expensive than the original releases, so I am sticking with what I have. The only exception was the original MS Gundam. Fortunately I was abelto to get both sets Bandai offered on release day, as they went OOP very quickly. The Blu Rays Sunrise is offering are nice, but I'll stick with what I have. I'd like to consolidate Robotech sometime, but Harmony Gold has so many convoluted releases, again I'll stick with what I have.

Well I completed Strike Witches (both seasons) despite the absurd amount of fanservice (usually involving rather young girls behinds/breasts) the story & characters far outshine that stuff.
It's almost to the point where you don't even notice that stuff at all.
Now we just need to keep bothering Funimation to bring out the OVAs/Movie and whatever else they have for this.
It's been over a year since they announced they had the movie & IIRC they also got the OVAs as well.

Anyhow I decided to take a kinda long trip to the nearest Hastings.
It's about a 45 mile trip one way...
Called ahead to see if they had select shows I was considering consolidating.
They had just 2, but I said "what the heck" and went anyways.
I brought the singles of the shows to do their trade-in deal, but they just wanted like 5 discs (for about $3)...
I went ahead and bought the shows (Trigun & Baccano) anyways.

Pretty sure that no place locally has either of those (yes I could get them online, but I like supporting actual stores).
I asked them why there is no store in Austin (there used to be one in Round Rock), they said they don't put stores in "big markets?" When San Marcos (where that store is) is growing extremely fast (IIRC it's like the #1 fastest growing city).
Killeen (where the other closest store is) is also growing pretty fast as well.

Basically I told them that it's rather dumb to not have a store in a huge market, cause quite frankly that kind of store has almost no competition.
Sure we have stores that sell books, games, and movies, but none of them rent movies/games as well.

I like to support actual B&M stores as well, but it is getting harder and harder. In Sacramento, (a top 20 TV market), there really isn't a wide range of stores. There are two Fry's within a 20 minute drive, and (surprisingly) seven Best Buys within 30 miles according to the store locator, but there are only two I usually go to, because they all seem to be pretty much the same. There are endless Target's & Wal-Marts, but unless I am purchasing wide releases, they don't offer much, and no Anime to speak of unless it is DBZ or Naruto. Also I have seen the media (especially anime) sections of Fry's and Best Buy shrink to about 25% of what they once were over the past decade. Small in-mall stores no longer exist (RIP Suncoast). Well, that isn't necessarily true. There is one FYE in a small-town Mall about an hour away, but the ease of ordering online , plus the fact that Amazon is always going to be less expensive than FYE really doesn't give me much motivation to go there. We do have an independent chain that has a couple of stores with HUGE selection of used DVD's, but again, ordering new stuff from them is usually 10%-20%more expensive than Amazon.

Well it's possible that with Funimations recent deal with Universal to distribute their stuff, you might see more anime at Target/Walmart in the future.

I guess it's just us "fossils" that want to buy DVDs/Blu-Rays though, since the younger generation is doing mostly streaming for their anime needs.
As I only have my phone for Internet stuff, it seems kinda silly to try those.

Of course living in an area that doesn't seem to know what anime is "worth" (unless it's a mega popular show, or really hard to find) I do come across some ridiculous deals at places like Half Price Books (for example all 3 volumes of Hand Maid May for $3 each).

Anyhow, I decided to start another re-watch of Full Metal Panic.
I usually opt for the dub in this one, cause all the dub voices really work well.
Especially Chris Patton & Luci Christian playing off each other (which is why I really like The World God Only Knows as well).

Gonna try to sell the singles of Trigun & Baccano along with Cannan & K-ON The Movie DVDs.
Cause we have the Blu-Ray versions of Cannan & K-ON the movie for under $25 for BOTH...

Yep, sold that stuff.
Got $14.50.

Oh well, the Cannan & K-ON Movie were only $23 for both.

I ripped through Full Metal Panic & Full Metal Panic Fumofu.
Fumofu is still one of the most fun shows EVER!

Borrowed Oblivion Island Haruka & The Magic Mirror & Little Busters from the library.
Oblivion Island looks great and the story was fun.

Little Busters seems good so far (only watched the first disc). though knowing Key it's gonna get weird/sad soon.

Also been watching more Powerpuff Girls Z on Youtube, just cause it's fun and it never got a US release on DVD.
Even though they fully dubbed it...

Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers - I watched a few subbed episodes about a year ago, it seemed fun, but now, as you say, it is beginning to get an English dub. I'm really put off by *toy gimmicky* shows, which most things I'm interested in have resorted to in Japan. However I really try to overlook/ignore this aspect when watching these shows. This show is actually fun. Nice to see such a wide diversity in Marvel characters as well. I sincerely hope that once the series is finished being dubbed, it gets some sort of North American Release

Finished Little Busters, I think they knew there would be a second season, so they ended it with a sort of "to be continued" end.

Bought Chobits (complete collection), Princess Nine (complete collection), MM, and Shigofumi Letters From The Departed.
Sold the singles of Chobits & Princess Nine to a female co-worker for $36.
Which I used to buy Chobits at a Hastings up north of my parents house (they went out of town, so I watched their cats).

Watched the first disc of MM, and it seems pretty fun.
This is the newer dubbed version (both MM & Shigofumi were under $30, Shigofumi was under $8).
Yes, that's for new DVD.

I watched the first season of Little Busters via the Anime Network OnDemand service, I thought it was pretty good. I haven't seen the second season yet, but the Anime Network did run some promos for it awhile back and it looked like it was going the weird and/or sad direction you suspected EricDent.

Watched the first episode of the new Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. I haven't attempted to watch a Gundam series in "real time" since 00, which I faded on quickly because frankly my computer at the time just wasn't up to par (and since Bandai was still releasing the DVD's). With this new series however, I plan to stick through it, to see if watching a series when it is new, week to week, feels any different. I like the design of the new Gundam, of course the 1st episode is just about establishing the characters, have to wait a while to see if it is any good or not.

Finished MM! it was a fun show, with a decent dub (still say that Sentai's dubs are fine), cute girls, and wacky stuff.
You can kinda tell Monica Rial was having fun doing the dub.

Watched the first disc of Shigofumi as well.
It's a thought provoking and kinda disturbing show.
Though it's not really depressing or sad (at least it didn't seem so to me).

Finished Shigofumi, it was pretty good, but had an odd ending.
It did get a bit depressing, and dark near the end.

On a whim I decided to watch Tenchi Universe after that.
Still a rather fun show with plenty of cute girls, a great dub (they even dubbed ALL the songs), and of course a fun adventure.
The only small issue is the "No Need For Knights" episode near the end.
During that episode there's a rather annoying strobe effect for at least a minute.
Gives you a headache if you stare at it too long.

Now watching Gun X Sword (up to disc 4) the older Geneon release.
Lots of action, fun characters, a great dub & soundtrack, and of course cool mecha.
While watching these I watched the rather amusing Gun X Sword San extras on the disc as well.
Basically they made cell shaded puppets of the characters and put them in comedy situations.
Usually invloving Wendy (the main girl) beating up her pet turtle Kameo (who can only talk in these episodes).

Finished Gun X Sword, its still pretty awesome.

Then I watched these:

Detroit Metal City (and the live action movie version as well)
Mouse
Tenchi Muyo Mihoshi/Pretty Sammy special (kinda wonder why Funimation hasn't rescued this)

Now watching Panty & Stocking with the dub (which is the ONLY option IMO)

I watched all four episodes to Ghost in the Shell Arise today. My first time watching them all in one sitting and dubbed. It was great, but not as good as SAC. I also really miss the old English voice cast. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the new dub, but I just can not get used to hearing these new voices for my GitS characters. I think episode 2 is easily the weakest of the four while the third episode is probably my favorite. It just really shows a side to Motoko we haven't seen before and adds some nice little surprises to the mix. On the other hand, the fourth episode really feels like a classic GitS story. Not a fan of the Firestarter storyline being unfinished, but that is what the movie is for.

Oh yeah, I also downloaded the two episodes from the TV cuts that continue where the series left off. They were pretty good but felt more like filler than anything else. I hope Funimation doesn't make me buy the entire TV cut of the series (which for some dumb ass reason put the fourth episode as the first 2) just for those two episodes.

Anyway, I'm all set for the movie next week. YES!!!

Finished Panty & Stocking, still kinda irritated about that ending...

After that I watched Straight Jacket, a cool movie about modern magic knight type warriors fighting demons.
The dub features Crispin Freeman & Steve Blum which of course is great.

Then I played the random anime game and selected the first discs if these:

Full Metal Panic TSR: Souske is having a hard time juggling the duty of watching Kaname, going out on missions, and trying to use Arblast's Lambda Driver to fight.

Yumeria: battle harem with various cute girls who get powered up by the main guy touching them...
It does feature Chris Patton, Luci Christian, and Monica Rial in the dub.
Although it seems that the main focus girl is "Mone" (that's all she can say) who is voiced by Britney Karabowski.
She has a habit of making kinda cute squeaky noises.

I finished watching Azumanga Daioh yesterday - one of the archetype shows for the slice-of-life genre in anime (iirc). It's a very funny and cute show, but as silly as it gets, most of the characters have a wonderfully believable feel to them that makes them endearing, even if some of them are obnoxious sometimes. The animation is merely serviceable, but it rarely holds the show back. This is definitely a classic anime.

I started watching Mr. Ososmatsu, which is a fascinating show. Osomatsu-san is a reboot/sequel of the old show Osomatsu-kun, which for us G-fans is significant for being the show Godzilla got his victory dance from in MZ.

The new show blends the old-fashioned characters & designs with modern humor & aesthetics; the result being a show that looks quite unlike anything else.

...Also, One-Punch Man is a blast.

I LOVE Azumanga Daioh!
I have the old ADV manga (now reprinted from Yen Press) and the anime.
I WISH Azuma (the creator of the manga) would let somebody try Yotsuba&!
That manga is even cuter & more funny than Azumanga is IMO.

I am on disc 2 of Yumeria.
It's a battle harem BTW.

Also just in case: Rightstufanime.com has started their Holiday Sale.
Looks like it's gonna be a bit different this year, with items added daily.
Including a "mega deal of the day".

I'm pretty fond of Yotsuba&! Apparently it's quite popular, so I'm surprised it doesn't have an anime adaptation yet.
I'd really like to see a new DVD/Blu-ray release for Azumanga Daioh, since the aftermarket prices for the old DVDs are pretty ridiculous (who owns the show rights now?).

EDIT: today's One-Punch Man rocked.

I'm not sure who has Azumanga Daioh, I would guess it's Section 23, but they haven't re-released it in a while.
So maybe the license expired and nobody has picked it up yet?

As for Yotsuba&! Azuma said nobody would "get" how to do an anime version.
Though several shows have extremely long moments of just looking at the landscape.
Though I am kinda curious what the hold-up on any more volumes of that manga is.
It's been almost 2 years since the last one came out in the USA.

Anyhow I watched the first disc of Irresponsible Captain Tylor (dub option is pretty much the only way to go IMO).
This show is pretty fun.

Then I watched Slayers The Motion Picture.
Maybe there's a certain order to watch these?
Cause it seemed that Lina knew Naga already...
The dub is OK, but Cynthia Martinez isn't quite as good as Lisa Ortiz.
In fact she sounds like Britney Karabowski with lots of squeaky stuff...
