Outside of two events in the series, the movies for the original Gundam series are vastly superior.

Been watching Patlabor - the T.V. series on the Anime Network's On Demand offerings. They started off with the OVA (not the New Files OVA) and then the television series. Fantastic series, very interested in seeing how the live action movie turns out.

I've also been following Medaka Box on AN -- it's been a fun series to watch, a shame that there is only two seasons though.

Forgot to mention that I finished Panty & Stocking last night. Those last three episodes were freaking insane. Hilarious, but insane. It is also the first show in a while to leave me not screaming at the screen for its ending even though it was a cliff hanger. Either it is because I'm too stunned in disbelief or it is the fact that it is making a mockery of those types of endings, but I enjoyed it. The best episode of the series is still the Transformers one.

Speaking of Patlabor, I recently watched the movie, which I borrowed from my local library.

It was pretty decent, and had a good combination of comedy, action, and drama.
Obvious '90s style of animation with kinda interesting character designs, and a decent dub.

I also borrowed The Garden of Words.

Amazing looking backgrounds & scenery, the story was good, and the dub was good as well.

Be sure to check out your local library, you might be surprised on what they have.
Mine in particular has a massive manga selection, which they made into hardcovers.

Rewatched Gundam ZZ and it was kinda.... weird. One thing I can't deny is that the mecha designs were rock solid. The ZZ, the AEUG's and Federation's GM IIIs, the Dreissen, Doven Wolf, Zaku IIIs, Quebeley, just about every damn thing in this series was a great design.

Time to rewatch Z Gundam...

I really like ZZ a lot. It started out weird, but once the plot got rolling and Haman Karn made her way onto the show, the series was nothing short of amazing.

It also helps that the Quebeley is my favorite non-Gundam mech.

Anyway, we spent the night watching the remaining 11 episodes to Psycho Pass and this show was just down right awesome. Every time you expected the show to do something or go somewhere, it did the exact opposite. It is nice to see something like that again, especially one that puts a spin on old concepts. The show is like Ghost in the Shell meets CSI, so I definitely recommend it and I cannot wait for the second season. Overall, I give the show an 8/10.

I recently packed all of my anime into Bankers Boxes.
All of that plus my manga/some books & normal movies (including Godzilla & Gamera stuff) fit into 8 boxes.

Yep, I am going to have to move soon (May).
The place decided to up the rent by almost $100.
Guess they must hate long time residents, since I have been living here for 3 years.
Pay my rent on time & barely ever complain about stuff.
Until recently that is, when I noticed some cracks in the walls.
They said they would get an engineer to look at it, but months past by, and they still haven't done anything about it.

They didn't want to cut any sort of deal either.
Offered to stay another year at the increased rate if they fixed some stuff.
Offered to stay another year at the same rate if they didn't fix stuff.
Offered to move into a smaller unit at a rate that was fair (without a transfer fee).
Nope, no dice.
Not really sure why the rent everywhere nearby (yes even in the "ghetto" areas) is so darn high.
Maybe it's the large influx of California people moving here for tech jobs.
While all us grunts have to suffer...
Sorry about the off-topic rant.
Just had to get it off my chest.

Anyhow, I pulled All Purpose Cultural Cat-Girl Nuku Nuku out & watched it.
It was the OVA version from 1992.
Still pretty fun, lots of action, Nuku herself is nice looking, decent comedy moments, and a decent dub.
Features Allison Keith & Kira Vincent Davis as Nuku Nuku & Ryunoske.

Basically they take a cat brain & put it into an android that Ryunoske's dad made.
She is cat-like but also pretty smart.
Of course all the boys go ga-ga for her.
The main plot focuses on the dad & mom are at odds, since he used her $/company to make the android.
So she sends her minions to get Nuku Nuku back.
Of course theirs lots of collateral damage & things blowing up.

BTW feel free to discuss those shows like Kill La Kill or Attack on Titan in this topic.

Now up through disc 2 of Nuku Nuku TV version.
It's similar to the OVA, but focuses on her school life.
Which like other school related anime, makes school seem like a complete blast.

The dub is rather fun, with a diverse cast of old favorites (this was ADV).

Chris Patton, Luci Christian, Hillary Haag, Shelly Callene-Black, and Britney Karabowski.
Of course Nuku Nuku is still voiced by Allison Keith, and Ryunoske is still Kira Vincent Davis.

We finished the last three episodes to Space Dandy and seriously, what the ****? I know there is going to be a second season, but there is nothing here that makes me want to bother with the second season. Unfortunately, I'm over ruled by a majority vote in that department. Or maybe the episodes were not that bad and it was just the lack of brain cells after that terrible ToQGer/Gaim crossover that made them seem so. Either way, nothing came out of anything with Dr Gel finally discovering the secrets of the universe as it seems like it was all wiped away by the next episode, which is just stupid. There is no reason to not have ANYTHING in continuity with each other. Overall, I give the first season a 4/10. It has gorgeous animation, excellent voice acting, and there were some great stories mixed in with the crap. It does have some funny moments, but when there is no such thing as continuity, it makes it hard to enjoy the little things when the bigger things is nothing but a giant smelly turd.

Finished Nuku Nuku TV, and blasted through Nuku Nuku DASH!.
Dash is a bit more on the action side, plus a bit more romance.

Any word on the Appleseed movies that just came out recently?

I watched the first episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V and it was pretty lackluster. But then, I guess I shouldn't be surprised given this series has been going downhill since the original ended. This new series is just so childish. Even more childish than ZeXaL. Yu-Gi-Oh! is at its best when it is more mature with childish moments. This new stuff is crap. Worst of all, the episode did nothing to explain to me what this new Pendulum summoning is. Oh, and now the first person to play does not even get to draw a card. LAME!! The designs are dumb, but the worst is that stupid hippo. I thought the cards Judai used in GX were bad, but these are just awful. Overall, I give it a 3/10 and that is really just for the opening song. I may watch the next episode just to see if they actually explain Pendulum, but I don't know. If you are a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan and over the age of 8, do not even waste your time on this crap. If you like Beyblade and are 5, it might be for you.

I watched the first 10 episodes to Season 0 of Yu-Gi-Oh! and got really annoyed and bored with it so I skipped to the Death T stuff and hated it so I watched the first 10 episodes to Duel Monsters today as I finally found fansubs of the entire series (yay, no more having to watch my raw DVDs). So far, the series has been pretty nice to revisit after a 6 year break. The music remains to be fantastic. The only downside is that even though I got 10 episodes down, I still have 214 to go. UGH!!

So me and a few friends have been on the Initial D craze.. we've been re-watching the first season on Netflix any time we get and I really love this show! I so want a Eight Six after seeing this.. even though I know they are hard to find and that Takumi drives a heavily modded one.

So now I am re-watching Angelic Layer.
Up through disc 3.

Such a fun show with decent action, comedy, and interesting characters.
The dub is especially fun with Jessica Boone, Andy McAvin, Monica Rial, and several other ADV favorites.

Kinda wonder if I will see something like this kind of tech in my lifetime.
Having dolls that actually move & fight each other on a special arena seems like it would be extremely popular.
Though I am kinda surprised that there aren't that many guys involved in the game.
You would think they would do stuff like mini-mecha or action figures with that sort of tech.
Heck it might even be a replacement for pro wrestling.

Speaking of pro wrestling, I noticed when watching the Metal Fighter Miku anime, that they used a very similar scoring system to Angelic Layer.

Also just in case: this show is a prequel to Chobits.

Up to disc 6 (of 7) of Angelic Layer.
Still pretty fun.
Though Hikaru loves to pull off upset wins quite often.

Watched the first 13 episodes of Battle City today of Yu-Gi-Oh!. I left off after finishing the Pandora episodes, which is one of my favorite duels of the arc due to the constant use of magic cards. It is just so epic when both of them play off of each other and even after both Black Magician's are destroyed, they both had Monster Reborn to bring them back.
