Just watched Sword Art Online episode 2, and it was decent. I loved Dot Hack, and this is just an extension of that genre. I'll try to keep up with it.

Got the Speed Racer DVD set. My utter love of the movie had me in the mood for a re-watch for some time now. Am a few episodes in, and I while I liked the show as a kid I don't remember it being just this good! It's a great cartoon!

Thanks for the info, I totally forgot that Funimation was doing a sorta import thing.
IE releasing it without a dub now, and then doing a dub later.
Kinda wonder who they would use to do the voices, since I hear its a prequel.
So not sure if the old Bang Zoom/Bandai voices would work for younger versions of the characters.

Anyhow I recently bought these:

Ghost In The Shell (movie)
Ghost In The Shell 2 Innocence (movie)
All 4 singles of El Hazard: The Alternate World
El Hazard: The Magnificent World (all of it including El Hazard 2 OVA).

Some of it is shipping via Amazon.

All of this stuff cost under $60.

Got through disc 3 of GITS: SAC 2nd Gig the "Individual Eleven" stuff seems a bit more of the focus.
The previous season kinda jumped around with the "Laughing Man" stuff.

Then I started on El Hazard: The Magnificent World.
It seems pretty similar to The Wanderers.
Of course some of the characters look a tad different (mostly Rune Venus).
Plus that whole Fatora thing (where Makoto looks like her, and she is apparently into young girls).
Not 100% sure if Queen Diva is the same dub voice, but she looks a bit better with more revealing clothes.
The older Ifurita is interesting, but I kinda like the klutzy & cute one from The Wanderers.
Maybe it's cause she seems to wear a bit too many clothes for this sort of show.

If you aren't aware, this show was made by most of the same people who made Tenchi Muyo.
So you would expect some serious fanservice from the main "love interest" of the main guy (Makoto).
As I mentioned in The Wanderers that love interest is very different, since it is Rune Venus.
This Rune Venus (in The Magnificent World & The Alternate World) is attractive, but not quite as attractive as the one in The Wanderers. Maybe it's the hair color & length? Plus she seems a bit less "curvy" in certain areas (mostly the chest).

I guess I spoke too soon about fanservice in El Hazard: The Magnificent World.
As the very next episode dealt with the infamous "hot spring" episode trope.

LOADS of nudity, nipples, butts, and people literally running around in the buff.

Possibly even more so than the various Tenchi episodes dealing with the bath they made.

Anyhow I finished that disc, and now am waiting to get the rest of it that I ordered.

I also watched Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. Which was kinda odd.
Not in a good way odd. First the version from Dreamworks was sub-only, then the subs were "hard of hearing" subs with sound effects & said who was saying the lines.

Then I watched volume 4 of the 2nd Gig of the GITS: SAC series.

As well as volume 3 (AKA disc 1 of part 2) of Princess Resurrection.
Which Netflix DVD service must have got pretty recently, since when I got the first half, the second half wasn't available.
Of course like the first half, they got the sub-only version.
Even though there is a new dub version out of it now.

Both shows are good.
Kinda tempting to grab Princess Resurrection on DVD, only if the ending holds out.
Need another "spooky" show to go with Moon Phase & Rosario+Vampire.

Sorry, I don't follow the streams, if it's good enough to come to the USA on DVD/Blu-Ray then I might rent/buy it.

Anyhow, I got Ghost in the Shell in the mail (ordered it).

Finished El Hazard: The Magnificent World, it was fun.
Started on El Hazard 2, looks pretty similar.

Got Wild Cardz from Netflix, it was a kinda silly '90s OVA. But kinda fun in a way.

Apparently Netflix got Princess Resurrection Part 2, so I rented it.
Like the other half, this was the sub-only version (though there is a newer dub version).
Still pretty fun, with a bit of spooky thrown in. Might think about adding it to the collection.
Seems like it would fit in with Moon Phase & Rosario+Vampire.

Just watched episode 1 dubbed of Digimon Fusion. It feels really nostalgic that Digimon, TMNT, and Power Rangers are on one channel. I loved Digimon so much as a kid and hopefully that nostalgia gets me through this show XD

I've been hearing some decent things about Fusion. I haven't touched anything Digimon since Adventure 02 came to a close, but I'm a little curious about this one. I keep hearing the term 'nostalgic' thrown around about it - is it just because of its time slot, or is there something about the show itself that recalls Adventure and Adventure 02? If it's the latter, that's a little more compelling to me.

I just finished watching Berserk: The Golden Age Arc II. It was okay. I thought it skimmed over a few too many things, and the 3D animation was sketchy overall, but I could've done worse with 90 minutes. If you like Berserk generally, sure, check it out. I'd probably tell anyone else to go see the show or read the manga first.

I really should start the second season of Initial D soon. And I'm thinking, since I bought it today, that I should really rewatch Claymore at some point.

I'm currently watching the Ultraman Anime, from the 70s. So far I find it to be a good show.

While I was watching my parents house/cats I caught an episode of Digimon Fusion.
It looked pretty good, though not really sure on the whole concept of them just becoming a bigger Digimon.

Got the last disc of GITS: SAC 2nd Gig & Iron Man: Rise of the Technovores.
That I will watch on Sunday.

That's it as far as Netflix goes, I put it on hold.
Mostly cause I wasn't interested in any other shows the had anime wise.
Plus it will save me some $.

Iron Man: Rise of Technovore.
It was a decent movie, but not as good as the 12 episode Iron Man anime series.
Both of which were animated by Madhouse & directed by a Japanese director.

Also finished Ghost In The Shell: SAC 2nd Gig.
As usual Section 9 saves the day, gets all the bad guys, and rides off into the sunset.
Of course some people died, including Kuze (who probably was The Majors long lost love), and the fun Tachikomas.
They got new AI Tanks (think it said Bratchkoma?).

Thus ends my long relationship with Netflix DVD service.
Mostly due to lack of interesting stuff to rent.

Don't worry I have plenty of stuff to rewatch in Japanese, and a few to watch in English.

Including a newly bought copy of the singles of Najica Blitz Tactics (in artbox).
At a local Buybacks for about $23.

I've rewatched a couple of the Yamato movies here recently along with a couple of episodes from The Comet Empire season. Also watched an episode or two of Speed Racer in Japanese/English subs for the first time. About to start watching this Mazinkaiser series here pretty soon.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do (I have the DVD's from ADV & a copy of the OVA film as well). The dub is kind of cheesy, but not the worst I've heard. The opening song however, just so.. AWESOME!!!

Has anyone ever seen the third Space Battleship Yamato TV series? (dubbed The Bolar Wars here in the US) This is the one Yamato TV series I have not watched yet as it wasn't aired on Boston or Philly TV stations at that time. I had always heard and read that the dubbing for it was not as great as the first two series.
