I'm thoroughly enjoying 20th Century Boys and liked Pluto quite a bit. I'm interested in reading Monster.

Oishinbo is fun and offers fun insight into Japanese food culture and eighties Japan.

The first half of Death Note was very gripping and then, like kiryugoji04 said, it got un-interesting except for the finale.

The top of the line for me so far is the first four volumes of the Naruto series. The end of the Land of Waves story arc had me in tears.

I admit that the first half of Death Note was the strongest, but I still had fun the whole way through.

I forgot to also mention A Drifting Life by Yoshihiro Tatsumi. It is very good and covers a portion of the history of manga production right after WW2. I recommend this highly, especially if your interested in the history of manga.

This thread made me pick up and flip through SOLANIN again. Oh God, it's so good. Seriously, read it if you ever get a chance - it's a great little slice-of-life/coming-of-age/twenty-something-malaise story. On the right days it even edges out BONE as my favorite comic ever. Viz REALLY needs to publish more of Asano's stuff stateside. Or someone. ANYONE.

They also put out "What a Wonderful World" as well, which is also great. This guy is my favorite comics creator, hands down.

I've heard the guy who does Guyver is very "laid back" about doing chapters/volumes. He does them when he "feels like it" (which apparently is not very often).

Cause in the 20 plus year span between the first Guyver OVA series & the 2005 Guyver series there really was not that much "new stuff".
Plus it still ends on a huge cliffhanger, though the "giant Guyver" was kinda cool.

I did buy a volume of Bakuman. Which is by the guys who did Death Note but is about two guys starting a manga. I liked it pretty well, still haven't picked up any new volumes, though.

This thread inspired me to go catch up on what I've missed in the last year with The Guyver. I got up to volume 28 (amazing a showdown between Guyver I & III !!), and most of what I'm guessing will be volume 29. (Guyo's "crab" form and a battle between Griselda and female Guyver II). It seems significant plot points are slowcoming. I dont see this series ending anytime soon. Maybe at the 30 year mark?? (2015)? But the good news is that releases are more frequent than I previously believed. A 15 page story is released monthly in Japan. Even if it offers nothing significant and can be read in probably about 2 minuets .

It's not the greatest manga, but its keeping me interested.

I've been reading through Junji Ito's horror manga books and collections. Needless to say, I've been rather disturbed more than a few times. I'm also in love.

I'm a big fan of Gon by Masashi Tanaka. The artwork is some of the best I have ever seen in a comic/manga, and it is very entertaining. That said it's a little different from your typical manga, and I haven't really bothered with much else.
