But that hasn't stopped a show from running for more than 50 episodes before.
Besides, ratings are crap because they are only based off of a very small percentage of viewers.

Unfortunately, it sounds like Max is going to follow the same old Ultraman formula that every other series has done.
Seriously, they really need to do something different with UM and not care what some fan boy whiners complain about.
You don't see Toei cancelling any new Rider show because the fanboys of the older series complain how it is too different for their tastes.
You don't see Toho cancelling Justirisers because it sucks.
Why is Tsu letting fanboys get in the way of Nexus?

it's not fanboys, it's regular fans that aren't watching the show, period. TSP wants to make money, and if no one is watching the show they get cancelled. it's not like a handful of US fanboys can affect a show in Japan.

I wouldn't say that...the recent Ultraman The Next movie had a very positive reaction if I'm not mistaken, and it's certainly different from most of the Ultraman movies released in the last few years. They'll still try new things, they just want to make sure it "sells" as well.

seems like Nexus is giving the fanboys what they want, a "darker more serious" Ultraman and it's tanking because of that, so perhaps Tsuburaya SHOULDN'T listen to the fanboy whiners that don't want the shows aimed at family audiences and just want these "grim and gritty" shows so they won't be embarrassed watching them.

Probably dark and gritty and a 7:30 Saturday morning time slot wasn't a brilliant marketing strategy either. I like Nexus a lot, but I look forward to the new show as well.

Being dark is what makes it interesting. As for lack of action, it is no different than other Ultra shows like 7.
