Just because that's Best Buy's date doesn't mean that's the same for everyone else. Perfect example: Today, Suncoast received the DVD box set of Beast Wars Transformers Season 2. The Best Buy nearby said they're not getting that until next week. We will likely see it in most Suncoasts and other video stores tomorrow or later this week. The Suncoasts I frequent normally get their inventory shipments on Wednesday, and since Ultraman Tiga is a minor release, there isn't a big hurry on Suncoast's part to make sure it's available by release date. They did the same thing last time with vol.1, getting it on their first incoming shipment after the release date.

My Best Buy didn't get it today. They did, however, get Godzilla x. Mechagodzilla right on time and they finally had GMK. No sign of GxM though.

Oh well, I won't be able to get any of them untill my birthday next month anyway.

My Tiga Vol. 2 DVD arrived today, via UPS. Locally, my two FYE's surprisngly had GxMG, and Best Buy FINALLY got GMK in (only one copy left, though).

As far as the actual content of the discs, features aren't anything special. The only kaiju bios (for example) are Gazote II, Golza II, and Sakuna-Oni. I have only skimmed through the features thus far, however.

Now for the episodes. Finally, US fans get to see Keeliroid II and Silvergon. I won't go really in depth (I have a little more respect for the fans who wish to see these episodes mostly spoiler-free), so I'll limit my review to what I enjoyed about each of these two episodes.

Episode 25: "The Devil's Judgement". Overall, a very good episode. Great character development for Captain Iruma. She really shines as a powerful female lead in this episode. "The Devil's Judgement" had a very dark (almost satanic) feel to it. Miles better than Keeliroid's first appearance. Keeliroid II was more vicious than her earlier counetrpart as well.

Episode 26: "Jungle of the Rainbow Monsters". A fun episode with one brutal monster and an even more brutal Kaiju against Kaiju battle. Silvergon was as vicious as he was strong, and he had a very Gabara-esque personality. Add to that, he is one of my personal favorite Tiga kaiju.

It really stinks that these two episodes never made it to the air. Maybe watching the raw Japanese episodes was better, though. I actually found myself enjoying these two the most. Can't wait for Volume 3!

BTW, the DVD promos before the main menu has a coming attraction for Volume 3 and gives an advance look at the cover for Volume 4!

"[i]is the cover for 4 "glittered" as I think it may be?[i]"

Vol. 4's cover is gold.
