Tsuburaya losing license rights to Chaiyo?

Very interesting. I haven't followed this case at all, but I don't see how Tsuburaya lost or is losing the rights to their own creations though. I guess Chaiyo came up with a really witty contract that Tsuburaya didn't realize the extent of.
Could be good for U.S. Ultrafans in the short term, but what are the long term implications of Tsuburaya not seeing profits from international sales. Do they sell the Showa shows on the international market as little as they do for the U.S.? If so it doesn't seem like it would impact them financially.

Getting nice fresh region 1 Ultraman/jack/seven dvds would be sweet.
