Monster Zero x SciFi Japan - Archive Only

So today I'm subbing for a fourth grade classroom that I sub for all of the time and some of the students were showing off their presentations. One of them has done one on the original Ultraman series and started showing off several pictures of the monsters, with their names, telling them what order they apeared in, who they are, and then he talks about his favorites (the original, Seven, and Taro). It was quite awesome to see a 9 year old not only love the original series, but even make a presentation about it to share with the rest of the class.

Ha, pretty cool! I'm sure all of us, at some point or another, managed to bend a school project to be about our nerdy interests. Pretty sure I did a power point presentation covering the entire history of the genre in middle school.

There's hope for the future.

Cool. I also did a Godzilla project in Highschool (of course it was pre-internet, so it was way more unknown to most students), and one in college that was me building up interest leading up to the release of the 1998 film, boy I hyped the heck out of that film in a ppt presentation, glad I never saw any of those people again heh...

Also I had an Algebra teacher in Highschool (this was 1990) whenever he would talk about multiplication he would cross his hands in an "X" formation across his chest and he'd say "you know like Ultraman used to do..." of course nobody got the reference, and I corrected him that it was actually more of a plus sign, straight horizontal & vertical rather than an "X"

My son (F) loved Ultraman X, and a few weeks ago his best friend (E) was over. They were playing with some of the figures, and I asked E "Have you ever seen Ultraman?"

E: "Oh yeah"

F: "You have!?"

E: "No... but you've only told me about it a MILLION times"

We're working on him :p

Heck, 46 year old me started a podcast to get the word out. ME and this kid, we're gonna get em from both sides!
