I read on Jim Pluff's blog that the director wants this series to appeal to adults as much as kids. Very interesting... and with 37 overall episode Orb is getting a lot of love. We're almost up to the classic episode count.

I wonder if the mash-up gimmick of Orb somehow gives Tsuburaya wiggle room to use the original characters internationally.
Anyways, good luck having this crassly marketed gimmick, for as fun as it can be, appeal to adults. Hopefully Taguchi is still involved.

More Gai and Juggler can only be a good thing. If this is set back when they were both on the same side, I wonder if they'll play a space-harmonica duet.

Really love this teaser image. It has a very Japanese fantasy vibe, something there were going for in Ginga S but didn't quite pull off.

Seem like Dyna and Cosmos aren't just guest spots, but full-fledged supporting parts.

Just finished the first episode. No subs, sadly. Can't really tell what's going on that well, but I like the new bug kaiju. Orb's first attempt at using his ray made me laugh when he lost control. Nice little cameos by Arston and Gesura as well. Looking forward to the second episode (and subs).

Okay, so 2016 was the 50th anniversary of Ultraman and the 20th anniversary of Tiga, so we had the Ultraman X movie with Ultraman and Tiga and Ultraman Orb which, in its way, pays tribute to the history of the franchise.
2017 is the 50th anniversary of Ultraseven and the 20th of Dyna, so we have Seven in the Orb movie and Dyna as a supporting part in the Orb miniseries.
... if we follow this logic, then - 2018: the year of Gaia!

^Something about 'Ultra Fight Orb' ?
I wonder if that's gonna be a clip show like Retsudan.

Love this picture. The miniatures look on point, and one of my favorite Ultras!
