Now, this could be nothing at all. Crap gets posted on amazon all the time and bootlegs occasionally get through. That being said: this listing has a new DVD release of the Tiga/Dyna movie coming out in a few moments from Koch Entertainment.

Probably a bootleg. But even if it is legit, I don't see how it could be any better or different than the ones Image Entertainment released back in 2002. Sure the dub was laughably bad, but it had original language & Eng subs.

and you are right about crap being posted on Amazon all the time, but I appreciate the effort. I keep a lookout myself, even if all I see is stuff like this:

Well, I know Koch is an actual company, so there's that - but the big deal would be a company working with Tsuburaya to release new (post Chaiyo) Ultraman material, which would be a big development.

^I was thinking that this may just be whoever got the rights for the Image DVD releases in 2002 realizing they still have the rights and releasing it through a different distributor, but then I thought that 14 years is an awful long time for something like this!

... but whatever's the case I'd gladly rebuy: when I was a teen I felt I was too grown up for Ultraman and stupidly got rid of both the two Image movie releases as well as 4Kids Tiga releases! Teens are stupid!

I bought the original release second-hand about two years ago. I'm not opposed to double-dipping, especially on Ultraman, except... I didn't like this movie very much :/

I always wanted the Ultraman Gaia movie, but I procrastinated forever until it disappeared for reasonable prices. I see that used copies don't command nearly as much of a premium now unless I want it brand-new, but I'd welcome a new release.

I've noticed that Itunes has apparently pulled the original Ultraman tv series they had for sale(the entire 39 episodes). Not sure why it was pulled. Perhaps it's because
new dvds/blu rays are being issued? Tsuburaya successfully convinced Apple to pull the show since it was licensed under Chaiyo?

^Considering Shout Factory TV streams Ultra Q, Ultraman, and Ultraseven I think the safest guess is that it's just a marathon.

*BUMP* Thinking about this more, I'd hope that we'll get a "surprise" release of Ultraman on blu-ray for the States here. It's already pretty saturated via the regular DVD market here. So I'm hoping perhaps we'll finally get a proper blu-ray release of the series.

GMAN posted a screenshot from an interview (but didn't cite where it's from! Shame on you GMAN!) that certainly seems to hint at the possibility of Ultraman on NA home video.

Very cool! Hope something good comes of it, though it may be super tentative at present. I think the smart move for US releases would be to release the most recent shows (X and Orb) and then work backwards from there if they did well enough.

Between Kraken, Shout!'s Sentai releases, and now Funi's potentially making tokusatsu a recurring thing on their release schedule (well, with Shin Godzilla and the two Attack on Titan movies I guess they already have) we may be living in a time unprecedented for US toku fans. All we need is someone to license Kamen Rider.
