Yeah, continuing in the super-toyetic direction, but if it's as fun as X then who cares?

Nice Taro/Ultra Father vibe from the one mask. Interesting.

Kiyotaka Taguchi is returning as director (heck yeah!) and says this is a back-to-basics Ultraman show.

We all agree the form with horns is the best one, right? I really wish they'd go with interesting headpieces to differentiate Ultraman designs instead of just adding a lot of fiddly bits.

So he's a complete fusion. No base form. Kaiju looks nifty. Interested. Hope it's as good as X. 10 bucks says his must-have SUPER POWER FUSION will be that of Ultraman Saga + Ultraman Ginga Victory.

I like the phrase "back to basics" but the pictures don't seem to say the same thing. I really enjoyed X despite all my hesitation, so I'll give it a go

I really dig Orb's concept and designs but it's a little frustrating that the legacy character thing was already milked pretty hard in Ginga/Ginga S (and a little in X too). Just hope the next series does something more original with its Ultraman or else in a few years there won't be a backlog of characters to even milk like this.

In the meanwhile, Taguchi is directing this show so I am totally stoked.

Not sure I like the henshin device, but I like that weird Bird monster.

Looks as toyetic as X, but the characters look like a lot of fun and the Tokusatsu effects still stupendous!

Does it seem like this Ultraman may be a Doctor Who-like character: an eccentric alien who's always crossing paths with the other human characters?

No word yet on whether they will show this on Crunchyroll as it broadcasts like they did with X. I'm really hoping that they will, this does look good!

The announcement that X would air on Crunchyroll came literally the day before it premiered so...

That new promo got me incredibly hyped. I'm still not finished with X (got a few eps left), but I'm going to try to keep up with Orb.

I'm really not liking Orb's designs at all (though that Belial form intrigues me), and I'm sure the toy gimmick will get old fast; but the story sounds neat, the visuals still look great, and I'm especially pleased to hear that orchestral background music. A good Tokusatsu title needs a good soundtrack!
Count me in for looking forward to this.

I wonder which Ultra belial is fused with.

Zophy is the only Ultra who can keep Belial in line.

I'm a little sad about Retsuden going off the air. It's a good sign that Tsubaraya is moving forward, and it's not like we will never see a clip show ever again. But its special to me, and came at a time when I was really digging into the various Ultra series. For Tsubaraya to put the episodes up on youtube, even without subs, for the world to see was a huge sign of goodwill towards their overseas fans.

The opening credits have leaked and they're FANTASTIC.
