"Nexus" is where I completely lost my mind. Totally absorbed in hype for this movie....

Looks like remedial garbage. Let me tell you how this will end:
All the Ultra's will have a role-call before standing side-by-side and using their signature weapon on whatever CGI monstrosity they're facing.
This film features every Ultraman to have a television show (or movie in Zero's case) since 1996 in a last-ditch attempt to milk nostalgia from this dead franchise. So pathetic. You can't make a film featuring Ultraman Max, Nexus, and Mebius and have it make narrative sense, so you just know they'll be relegated to lame show-case roles.
I look back on the Zero Trilogy with fondness. Those are solid flicks interested in telling stories.

Which is more or less working for me since I've waited awhile to see Nexus again. I don't exactly keep up high expectations with Ultraman these days. As long as I giggle and cheer it works well enough. It may be a low point, but it's a fun low point. Tsuburaya will [have to] figure out something in the future to bounce back Ultraman. Until then bring on the nostalgia team-up and the immobile CG villain.

This looks like absolutely nothing I'd care to see...

Dear Ultraman Zero,
I take back everything bad I said about you. Please come back. You can even bring your old gang with you!
Yes, even Jeannine.
Just please, save us from Ginga. It's killing this franchise.
Yours truly,
A fan

I hate to say it but it kind of looks more like Ginga is kind of pulling the franchise back up out of the mire it's been in. It hasn't been a good run by any means but the production values have definitely been increasing with Ginga S.

ANYWAY, I look forward. If only because I am curious to see how Nexus will interact with the likes of Cosmos, Max, and Mebius.

I can see part of that conversation now:
Cosmos: Hey, don't tell me you guys don't try pacifist methods first too!
Nexus: Killer all space beasts!
Anyway, I look forward to this even though I know too much monster suit recycling will be done.

I haven't watched a single episode of Ginga, or its sequel, but I'm excited about this film, as long as they keep the toys out of the film itself, I'm on board.

The Blu-ray/DVD release for this is July 24th.
Years back I remember reading that Tsuburaya subtitles their DVDs, unlike Toho. Is this still true or nay?

Ultraman the Next (2004) and Ultra Galaxy Legends (2009) both received English subtitles.
