I have the movie version of The Secret of the Paradai Kingdom It's pretty good, very much like the old movie serials. If you like those you should enjoy it.

Yeah, I've dropped some major coin getting most of the R2s of the series. That poster is from the movie adaptation of Dokuro Kamen (Skull Mask), the first story arch in the series.

I love this show. It's Toei's first attempt at a tokusatsu hero on TV and the Mammoth Kong story arch has the first giant monster filmed for a Japanese hero TV show.

There's some great Mammoth Kong footage .

I've been watching quite a few episodes of Moonlight Mask recently; and man, it has to be one of my favorite Tokusatsu series. It being in Black and White is a huge plus, it feels very moody.

Someone on the main site should really write an article about it; so people can be aware of this gem. :)

Let us know how the quality is. I know it claims to have been restored but on the same page it also warns that the original elements were in bad shape so it may not look that great. Even though I've spent a great deal on getting almost the full series (just missing one story), I would probably double dip if it was cleaned up remarkably more than the previous releases.
Actually what I might do is if they also restored the Toei movies, I'd buy those for sure.

And yes, it's one of my favorite shows too. Being very into early pulp, cliffhanger serials and toku in general, it hits all the marks for me. It's like if The Shadow was a Kamen Rider fighting villains from a Jiro Kuwata manga. Great music too. I'm wondering if it's original scores or lifted from American serials, because some of it sounds super familiar.

Speaking of music, that was popular in the early 70s. :D
