Well, I was having a really hard time caring about the next Rider series after Kamen Rider W turned out to be surprisingly good and then OOO seemed like Toei slipping back into the same ol' same ol'. Plus I thought Fourze's head looked really weird and the Space/Highschool theme seemed... a bit of a stretch. Then I found out the creative team:

Main Writer: Kazuki Nakashima (Main writer for GURREN LAGANN)
Main Director: Koichi Sakamoto (Director of Ultra Galaxy Legends and Kamen Rider W A-to-Z)
Producer: Hideaki Tsukada (Producer for Kamen Rider W)

What I loved so much about W is how refreshing it felt because a mostly brand-new production team was heading up a series for the first time in quite awhile and it looks like the same thing might be happening here!

initially i wasn't a fan of the design at all, but then again W & OOO were hard to swallow initially, so it would only be fair to give this a 5-episode trial, before giving a fair opinion

that being said, I think im more excited about the "Legend Rider" rumor where past riders show up or Fourze inherits their power

I'll just watch W and OOO instead since I have not watched those yet.

I thouroughly enjoyed the first two episodes of OOO's, but it went downhill for me really, really fast. I've been pretty bored with just about every episode afterwards, minus a few not-that-special high points. They also keep globbing on sappy "emotional" moments like it's syrup and it just doesn't do anything. Then they introduce "Dr. Maki," who is the most stupid character I've ever seen. I got to episode 10 and just quit.

OOO's sucks.

Every single year, the same complaints about a suit or a show's premise get thrown out the window once the series actually starts and people end up at varying levels of being hooked (OOO aside, but CT seems to have the largest concentration of hate for the Os I've seen anywhere). I don't know if anybody ever actually learns their lesson, because I'm sure the same whining about the helmet or the eyes or the latest toy gimmick are going to start around this time next year.

Anyway, Fourze had a pretty damn fantastic opening. The only facet of the series that remains hard to gauge is the villains, but all in due time on that front. With that out of the way, let's keep it friendly here. 8-)

So I just watched the first episode and all I can say is dreadful, just down right dreadful. I hated it to death. Where should I start? I guess the school itself. First off, the classroom teacher has to be the worst teacher ever. She just stands there as her students bicker with each other without even saying a word. Secondly, the school is way too over the top. I mean the entire lunch scene was just stupid and felt too much like a terrible American school movie. There was nothing funny about it, it was just rediculous. Add that to the lack of any teachers around the entire time, and you have yourself the WORST SCHOOL EVER! I mean seriously, why are they letting the students do what they want? Then you have Yuki, who is completely worthless. She did not even try to get freed from the football guy that was holding her. Instead, she just stayed in one position and let him hold her the entire time. Not to mention the number of times she got in the way during the battle. She should have become a Kentucky Fried Chick. Then you have the hair of Kenta. What the hell is up with that hair? It gets the award for WORST HAIR EVER IN A KAMEN RIDER SERIES. Finally, you have his ugly as hell costume. Did they let a two-year old design that costume? I mean, it looks like a rejected MegaMan boss. For being a 40th anniversary series, it pretty much spits on everything that is Kamen Rider. I certainly have no desires to watch another episode. This show makes Den-O look serious and that was hard to do. Instead of ruining this year's Kamen Rider, they should have just turned this into another god awful high school anime and do a real KR show.
