Ultraman Episode #34: Gift From The Sky

The Basics: A super heavy monster crashes on Earth...
The Plot: Pretty simple...most of the episode is the Patrol's efforts to get rid of the beast...dubbed Skydon. The tone of this one is all over the place. Though the episode is supposed to be light hearted, parts of it are clearly serious...like the suicide...which goes against the grain. Generally, it's supposed to be humorous.
The Kaiju: The Skydon costume is actually pretty good for what is essentially a comedy monster. It mostly resembles the classic dinosaur Anklyosaurus.
The Acting: The episode isn't too serious and I think all the actors have a decent time hamming it up. Gotta love Hayata with the spoon.
The SPFX: Average. Skydon has a nifty breath weapon, but not much happens in the episode to be honest.
The Other Stuff: Again...the suicide was totally against the grain of the episode...not even sure why they put it in. Am I the only one who thinks that Skydon may have been delivered by Mephiras to humiliate Ultraman and the Patrol after the events in episode 33? It would make perfect sense.
