When I was a kid, before I ever got into Godzilla, I watched Speed Racer whenever they showed reruns on Cartoon Network in the '90s. From the nightly airings after 11pm to the occasional Saturday afternoon marathons, it was my favorite show, and the wonderful voice acting had a lot to do with that.

Even though I didn't learn who Peter Fernandez was until many years later, the first time I watched Son of Godzilla on a VHS tape at the age of nine, I recognized his voice instantly. "That guy's voice sounds just like Speed Racer!"

R.I.P. Mr. Fernandez. You were the best at what you did, by far. Glad to see you lived a long and fruitful life.
