Some general things:

- I enjoyed the cameos. It was great to see Tooru Minegishi as the new Gotengo captain (Minegishi was Gondo in GODZILLA VS. BIOLLANTE, and also appeared in the first episode of GARO THE FANGED WOLF).

- Koichi Kawakita SPFX that didn't have me clawing at my eyeballs. Although, to be fair, his work on the television series has been pretty good too. While there are some bad shots in this film, and there are no real money shots to speak of, I think overall it looked fairly consistent.

- Did anyone else think Manmosubosukiito looked hilariously similar to Ghidorah? I thought this final fight also dragged on a lot.

- Glad they went with the classic Gotengo design from the opening of FINAL WARS, and not the 'modern' one used through the rest of that film.

- The writing is very weak, and the acting is so-so. You don't have to put up with the half-arsed storytelling for long though, because I'd say the majority of this film is SPFX and fighting. Actually, if you're looking at it as a ratio of each film's runtime, I think this film probably has more action going on than FINAL WARS. Not sure how much it would total up to if you literally stop-watched both films, as this film is about 50% shorter anyway.

- This isn't a good movie at all, but it's entertaining if you have some time to waste. I probably won't bother watching it again though.

O_O oooh! I was always wondering how the Atragon worked in that film...>_<

I don't mind the spoilers, but could you let me know what happens to the Atragon? She looks like shes in quiet a bind there.

I finally saw this tonight. While it's not the greatest tokusatsu movie ever made, it's a great way to kill 70 minutes. There's some decent effects shots and the original Atragon theme that accompanied Gotengo was a nice touch.
I guess I'm of the opinion that as long as I'm entertained, watching a movie isn't a total waste of time.

I was a bit confused, having never seen Gransazers or Justirisers, but I loved seeing all the cool costume designs in action. I'll definitely watch it again.

I watched a lot of Gransazer and Justirisers when they came out but burned out on all of the posey sentai-ish wackamole fighting. So totally skipped Sazer X series and this movie.

Decided to watch the movie today and it was pretty fun. Especially with the Mecha Kong and Gotengo showing up. It was interesting to see the overseas destruction of Mecha Kong (whatever its name is in this) as it reminded me a lot of the "death" of Ghidorah in Omori's GvsKG.

In general on all of these Toho TV shows Kawakita's effects are a lot more pleasing than what he did with Godzilla in the 80s-90s. There's some especially nice composites of monsters and cityscapes.

yeah
