yeah, I guess its just that typical 60's voice. Yeah I liked it too but after I watched the japanese version I really didn't like afterwards.

At the end of the Japanese version, Ito asks what the being's name is, and Hayata makes up "Ultraman" right on the spot. In the second episode, they discover that the Baltan's weakpoint is an element found on Mars, called "Spacium". When Ultraman destroys the Baltan with his ray, Fuji Akiko says, "That ray must contain Spacium, right Cap[tain]?" -- hence, "Spacium Ray".

When Ultraman gives Hayata the Beta Capsule, he asks what it is. When Hayata asks what it does, and the reply is "When you are in danger press the button", Hayata asks "What will happen?", to which Ultraman laughs and says, "Do not worry."

It's a very cleverly written scene. The US version is well done, too, but it's a shame that they couldn't leave it as is. On the other hand, I like the way the US version ends in the last episode better than the Japanese version. But, that's another story.
