Instead of writing BCI, who have gotten their facts through third-party sources, why don't you contact Tsuburaya Productions and ask them who owns the rights?

If Tsuburaya still maintains the rights to Ultraman in the United States, which appears to be true, I see no reason they don't go ahead and license the series to a legit U.S. dvd label. Chaiyo will be in the picture until Tsuburaya forces their hand in the U.S. Sure, it's easy for me to sit back and play armchair lawyer but at this rate, it's gonna be a while before all the legalities are sorted out. Tsuburaya should start the ball rolling here.

I just don't understand why Tsuburaya is afraid to license the show to a U.S. distributor when they absolutely have the rights to do so. Chaiyo will try to contest it(and it'll probably take a long time but if that's what it takes to protect your property.....) but too bad.

No purchase of any Ultraman products from BCI or whomever deals with Chaiyo from me.

Support Tsuburaya Productions-the true owners and creators of Ultraman!

Tsuburaya Productions (TPC) would have done exactly what you stated, but I do think that they want to be the aggressors in this whole mess. TPC is not "afraid" of licensing the series; rather it was a matter of timing -- until recently, no one was interested. Again, as Bob said, there are a lot of things going on here that we're not privy to, so it's hard to make such calls. We'll just have to wait and see what happens next.
