It'll most likely drop in price a bit before release. Usually does.
Just hoping for strong enough sales to embolden Discotek into wading out a little deeper into the live-action toku waters for us U.S. fans.

From what I've read by following a few of these boutique home video labels (and book publishers) on social media pre-orders really do make a big difference. Among other things, retailers are more likely to push something if pre-orders are strong.

I just received a shipping notification for this already, a full month ahead of its release date. I ordered from Right Stuf. I will probably let you guys know how it is if I'm not too busy this week.

Wow. An entire MONTH ahead of schedule? That's great. What a bummer that RS has it (and is shipping it out) early but when you factor in shipping... the price is well over Amazon's. I don't need it
that badly. I'll wait and enjoy one of the few (limp as it is) perks (free shipping) of being an Amazon Prime member. (yippee
)
Those of you who get it thru Right Stuf, please give us your impressions on the video/audio quality of the episodes themselves, bonus content (if any), packaging, etc., etc. Many thanks.

It arrived today:
I'm a little shocked though as I could have sworn it originally said it was going to be spread onto 2 discs, but they crammed all 46 episodes onto one. Not sure how I feel about that as even with 46 episodes, that would be about 7-8 DVDs, which is between 56-64GBs.

Hopefully the quality won't suffer; but yes, that is a LOT stuffed onto one disc. Glad to see they changed the title back to "MegaBeast Investigator."
"Space Wolf" made him sound like an intergalactic pervert.

That's a pretty standard episode count on these SD Blu-Rays. Star Fleet/X-Bomber has 49 episodes on 1 disc. Fist of the North Star has 152 episodes spread over 3 discs.

It does seem like a lot on a single disc, but remember a dual layer blu-ray disc is 50 GB. Add BD's superior video compression over DVD and 7-8 DVDs worth of Standard Definition content isn't a stretch at all.

So this is going to be fun. Discotek made the disc be all one giant 42GB file, so that means when I go to rip the footage I need for my review, I'm going to have to input specific time stamps otherwise I'll get one giant 18 hour file. Joy. That's going to be annoying.
I did watch the first 6 episodes so far and it's okay. The first episode was just a mess as it crammed way too much into it without properly explaining anything. I did like that the first few episodes took place in space, but I guess they ran out of their budget for the first quarter and had to quickly find an excuse to keep Juspion on Earth. I also don't like how out of place the comedy feels as the characters are being written like this is a serious situation and then we get Juspion and Anri making funny faces and stuff out of the blue. Nevertheless, that's only 6 episodes, so I'm sure things will shape up over the remaining 40 episodes.

I haven't had a chance to pick this particular release up yet but I got through twenty-odd episodes of the fansubs previously and it is just a joyous, bonkers experience that I love more than pretty much anything else Toei has ever done. The storyline with the photographer and his family can be a slog at times but then as a reward you get an episode with Mad Gallant weaponizing disenfranchised youth using the evil machinations of capitalism and it's just the best.

I've been slowly chugging my way through Toei's metal heroes, in no particular order. I found Gavan to be somewhat of a chore. Kenji Ohba makes the series, plan & simple. I have yet to get to Sharivan or Shaider, but plan to eventually. I had to sample Juspion when I heard it was getting a legit release. Only DL'd & watched the first 6 eps, but good lord... what a ball of energetic fun! What I saw was more than enough to sell me on buying the whole thing. If only all toku could be this much fun. I am very excited to get my hands on it and watch the rest of the series.
From what you early birds have seen so far, are there any compression issues? I pray that it looks (and sounds) clean & respectable, not a bunch of pixelated dookey. Also, I know that the original fan subs left something to be desired - more of a simple oversight on text formatting/spacing than anything else, really. Has this been addressed and properly fixed for this release???

I haven't noticed any compression issues and the subs look like your normal subs just with different colorings like a blue color for song lyrics. HOwever, I haven't watched any more episodes yet. I hope to get into some more tomorrow after I record my next review.

I watched 10 episodes today and the show is getting better. I really loved the episode where Juspion and Boomerang had to save a couple who got tricked into working for Satan. The last episode I watched had this one photographer's kids looking for their dad and one of these new warlords already died without a single shred of character development.
In fact, so far my biggest issue is that everyone is so one dimensional. The deepest character at the moment is Boomerang and that is only because he briefly mentioned his brother being executed by Satan.

I feel like an entire movie's worth of stuff happened in the first episode.

Hmmmm... who is the bigger style icon, Mad Gallant or Boomerang?
