When I approach the producer director Takeshi Yagi about this....
He told me that it was to be in the continuity but there was a few copyrights probleme ...so officially they avoided the issue ....
BUT unofficially you can put it in the continuity ....it was the original intention.

Just watched the first episode again (going to rewatch the entire series) and I really cannot stress enough how much I love this series. It's probably my favorite Ultra series to date (and that's saying a lot as I love so many of them).
