Has anyone seen the Tetsujin 28 movie that came out a couple years ago? It just popped up on my radar and was curious as to whether it was any good. Anyone here seen it and have a review?

it's... OK. i really wanted to like it, but there is just not enough giant robot action to make it great. and the kid playing Shotaro mostly stands around looking scared. the colors are nice, but at 114 minutes we needed about 5 battles.

the other problem is Tetsujin isn't designed to be 3-D. he's a comic book/cartoon character, perfect for 2-D, and much like many CG animated stuff looks weird (look how off most of Disney's classic characters look as well) in a 3-D environment.

the recent cartoon is much better.

Wow I didn't know it was available on Netflix! Time to go and adjust the old dvd queue. Thanks for the info on the film and the Netflix info.
