I wish that I can help you with your question, but we don't get Return Of Ultraman here in the United States.

All of the negative reviews concern how the discs were repackaged from the original single releases to the box set, how all of the information contained in the booklets (interviews, etc.) were abridged for the box set's booklet, and that the Previews for the Next Week's Episodes were not reinstated for the box set (these were previously available in the Laserdisc releases and not contained on the single DVDs).

Mostly, these are the complaints from folks who bought the single DVDs, sold them off to get the box set, and they got less printed materials, and the same exact discs that were in the single releases. So, unless you read Japanese, you are not missing anything in purchasing the box set.

Now, as for the quality of the DVDs are concerned, I have the single disc releases, and the video and audio quality is STUNNING! In fact, I think I am going to watch and episode right now!
