Nah, I haven't seen The Invasion, either. One of my favourites is Pyramids of Mars, considered by many Whovians as a classic. It's sheer quality from start to finish, forgiving the BBC mummies and the hand that keeps Sutekh's cushion in place.

And according to the DVD's mockumentary, Oh Mummy!, Sutekh's an artist as well:

I have dimming memories of seeing THE INVASION at a general Sci-Fi convention in the early 90's. Sylvester McCoy was a guest, and in lew of the missing 2 or 3 episodes in the midst of this seven parter there was a small group of people of reading the missing episodes scripts with McCoy as the Doctor! Too bad the venue was a regular old hotel room packed like sardines. I can't say I actiually got to see much of the TV screen. But McCoy sure is a trooper.

I've seen THE INVASION a couple of times since then but my meories are still a bit fuzzy. Does't the TARDIS actually "cloak" in it? As in I mean turn invisible?

Tobias Vaugn was a memorable character... I was feeling quite sorry for him by the end (And was Vaugn played the same guy who later had a brief role as a Rennaiscance soldier in CITY OF DEATH?). Over all I have a favourable impression of THE INVASION, but TOMB OF THE CYBERMEN or THE TENTH PLANET are probrably my all time favorite Cybermen stories at the moment.

I think ATTACK OF THE CYBERMAN is terribly underrated! All the continuity references hardly spoil it for new viewers, and it's got some great characters and lines. Seeing the TARDIS temporarily regain it's powers to change shape was fun too.

The INVASION is the one with the Cybermen coming down the steps of some government building in London isn't it? I haven't seen it but remember seeing this picture in Famous Monsters or some similar magazine in the 70s. That one picture always fired my imagination. I'll have to look the video up.

I was really intrigued whenI first heard of this, but I was sort envisioning a 50's period piece shot on vintage cameras ala the George Clooney FAILSAFE. I'm still really interested to see it though! It's a shame kinoscopes of only 2 chapters of the original survive, and Brian Donlvy (Spell?) always got on my nerve in the movie being an American playing one of the first great british TV heroes!

No, sorry to get your hopes up. The missing episodes are still missing. It's just that this is the first time (for me) that I will have been able to see any of the original Q1 and Q2 teleplays.
