Monster Zero x SciFi Japan - Archive Only

Tonight's the last my PBS can play the show. BBC World Wide won't renew their contracts.... happly this seems to be because Sci-Fi or someone wants exclusive rights to the classic show to cash in on the new one. I lok forward to the show finding a whole new adience!

It's kind of sad seeing Doctor Who leave it's PBS homes after all these years. I was excited when I was fist moving to Virginia Beach because I'd hoped I'd be able to pick up MPT [Maryland Public Television - the east coast's bastion for Doctor Who]. Just about all my Doctor Who tapes were recorded from MPT broadcasts, and unfortunately I'm just a few miles to far south or I'd have been watching every Saturday night.

The best thing about Sci-Fi picking up the classic series is the market penetration. Sci-Fi is included on the standard cable/satellite packages of most [if not all] of the subscribers to either in the country. Of course, with the good can come bad, and in this case we might see episodes trimmed so more commercials can be packed in.

If BBC America is picking up the classic series I don't think we'll have to worry about chopped up episodes, but people have to subscribe to digital cable or get extended satellite tiers to watch BBCA.
