Monster Zero x SciFi Japan - Archive Only

It can only be better than the Toho films. The real question is, what will this adaptation be like? I imagine it'll end at a similar place in the story to Part 1 of the Toho films, assuming they follow the manga. I'm also curious about the rating the filmmakers will push for. A hard PG-13? An R?

Despite the lack of popularity of the big anime adaptation Hollywood movies so far I think this kind of thing is inevitable: anime, starting in the 90s, took the same place in pop culture that comic books used to for young people. If Hollywood wanted to continue to raid known properties for the next big hits they would have to dive in on anime and manga.

I am absolutely okay with Hollywood making this their own thing and thrashing the source material. I'm actually very interested to see how this turns out. I feel this could have a lot of potential consider how much can be improved from the original story.

Attack on Titan is one of the few series that would work better as an American adaptation more than anything else. For one thing, there will be no white washing unless they decided to turn the one Asian character white (which would defy her entire purpose so I doubt they would do that). Secondly, unlike Toho, they have the budget to actually do the Titans right. All they have to do is follow the manga and they would have enough material for like 10 movies if they do it right.

I expect a Hollywood version would be PG13
