I had posted this on the IMDB boards, then they died off, so I thought I would spread the word here. Author Richard Holliss, is currently working on a book detailing the poster art of Ray Harryhausen's movies.

While these guys have many posters available through The Ray & Diana Harryhausen Foundation, they do need help from fans.

If any of you have posters in your personal collection, they would love to take a look and perhaps include it in the book. One can scan and e-mail images of the posters directly to posters@rayharryhausen.org.uk. If they accept your poster, not only will they include it, but also, they will add your name at the bottom as the contributor, along with a free copy of the book!

I have a Japanese “7th Voyage of Sinbad” poster, that I hope I can contribute:

What they do need specifically are any posters from Ray's movies from the 1950s - "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms", "It Came from Beneath the Sea", "Earth vs. The Flying Saucers" & "20 Million Miles to Earth". They can be posters from all around the world - Europe, Japan, etc.

I don't have anything to contribute, but I'll be first in line to buy the book! While enjoying 'The Art of Ray Harryhausen' the one thing I wanted (even though it didn't really fit the focus of the book) was the poster art for the movies.

I wonder if they'll include the '80s VHS box art for 7th Voyage, which made the movie look like a contemporary sword and sorcery flick in the vein of Conan.

The book is awesome, and Titan Books already has a follow-up in the works: a coffee table book focusing on all the unmade films Harryhausen planned!

Indeed, the book is fantastic! Bought my copy around December (at Barnes & Noble) as a Christmas present to myself!

Yes, cannot wait for "Harryhausen- The Lost Movies". Some of them were covered, but more so as an after thought, in Ray's earlier book "An Animated Life". "War of the Worlds" and "The Elementals" are the two that I wish could have been fulfilled. He did have notions of doing "Lord of the Rings", but don't recall if he even did any artist conceptions.
